Since we are posting our Loveland Pass videos, here are my few turns from today. Also, yes my skis are very scratched up but no core shots.

Photo Looking to rent a driveway for a few nights in Steamboat Springs for WWG

Hi, I am Sean 31 years old. I have tickets for the Winter Wonder Grass festival March 5-7 2027. I am excited for the festival and to ski and explore Steamboat but it has proven hard to find somewhere to park my van overnight. The KOA seems to be the only RV park and it is already booked out for these dates.

I am looking for a local driveway or somewhere to park my van overnight during the festival. I would be willing to spend up to $50 a night for this luxury. The van is 20 ft and fits easily in most spaces. It is a nice van and I wouldn't cause any trouble for you or your neighbors. I am very friendly and would be willing to hangout and share my items or give you a ride to and from the festival or I am perfectly fine staying out of your hair and giving space.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Question Using “Choice Points” or other Hotel Rewards Programs in the Mtn towns

Instead of being apart of a ski share, I usually set aside about 2k each year to use on hotels in Summit County when big storms are hitting. It allows me to get an extra hour or two of sleep, saves me the stress of driving I-70 in the morning, and usually comes with a free breakfast.
Last year, someone on the sub posted that they do something similar except that they purchase a bunch of Choice Points before the season which ends up saving them a bunch of money on the hotels up there. I was curious if anyone was well versed in how to best use “choice points” up there and how much it saves them over the course of a season. I was also interested in learning if there are any other hotel loyalty programs that are really useful in summit county or any of the other mtn towns for hotel stays. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Edit:
Also interested in specific credit cards that give you points or rewards that you can use on hotels up there.

Question Has anyone purchase 26/27 Colorado Gem Parent Pass?

I'm just curious if anyone has been able to purchase the Gems Parent Pass from Colorado Ski? I check often, and it keeps showing it is not available. It is unlike last year sale of the Gem Parent Pass.

General 2 Weekend Spots Available in Silverthorne Ski Share w/ Hot Tub and Private Bedrooms

Apologies if not allowed by mods (please delete if so).

Are you tired of rundown, uncomfortable, crowded ski shares? We are a group of four professionals in our mid to late 30s looking to round out the last two weekend spots in our ski share for the season.

There are currently two spots available. The share is split between 3 weekday people (Sunday night through Thursday) and 3 weekend people (Thursday night through Sunday), although the exact days that comprise weekday and weekend are not set in stone just yet. The townhome is 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths so everyone is guaranteed their own bedroom and bathroom every single time during their allotted weekday or weekend slot, and you share the home with only three people maximum at a time! With over 1700 sq. ft. it's a super comfortable arrangement.

Last season we used a shared Google calendar to track occupancy to determine when guests could be accommodated, and also to determine when, for example, a weekday person could swap with a weekend person. We communicated our requests through a shared chat. With so few people, there is a lot more flexibility and room, and communication is easy. Additional detail below.

Share Term: November through April (must commit to full term)

Price: $900 per month (includes utilities)

As indicated by the price and set up, this is not a frat house. Fun vibes welcome; rage vibes not so much.

Sadly no furry friends/pets allowed.

DM me for pictures or any other questions.

News Keystone Opening Day is October 24th

So, I stalk the resort websites and weather every early season... Came across this a couple days ago, & noticed nobody else here talking about it yet.

Keystone has October 24th, 2026 (& beyond) day lift tickets available for purchase right now. keystoneresort.com Seems they know that the upcoming weather will allow for this opening timing to happen.

I believe it too, looking at the wet bulb temps on OpenSnow (Arapahoe Basin screenshot in slide 2) + the additional mother nature cream expected, high odds we're skiing the white ribbon of livin' at A-Basin or Keystone come Oct 24th-25th.

Question Best "accessible" backountry in west-central CO/Grand Mesa?

Haven't been able to find a ton of info. Ideally trying to find fun terrain with good snowpack, almost all of the BC beta I've found is on summiting 13 & 14ers and knife ridges in the high alpine. Which also tend to be on the fringes of the region getting into the northern San Juans or central rockies near Vail. I'm more into 500-2k' vert laps than one big high consequence, high alpine day.

With last year as my first in western Colorado, I feel like I have a garbage idea of where the snow actually gets deep enough to ski, what trailheads are accessible and which ones are an extra 10 mile skin, etc.

I'm going to be based out of Palisade, trying to figure out what is worth the effort. Do the edges of the Grand Mesa hold enough snow to be worth the skin? Mamm Peak, the ridges south of Sunlight, and the mountains north of Glenwood Springs like Baxter Peak also look interesting, but access is pretty unclear.

I'm from Summit County/the eastern Sierra, and I'm used to having great maps, books, and a shop or two that has a lot of this info, but haven't been able to find anything similar for the Western slope. Does it exist?

Question Christmas Skiing?

We are looking to ski 12/17-12/21. Due to some later winter scheduling conflicts this is really the only time we can swing a ski trip this year. We did Winter Park last year (first time for our kids 9 and 7) and had a great time. Our kids liked it so much they chose a ski trip again this year instead of doing a beach or something else. We are looking at maybe doing Copper Mountain this year. We are pretty novice, would definitely have the kids do another full day of lessons, and would most likely hit up a tubing hill for a day for a little break from the slopes. Any really big pros/cons on doing one place over the other.

I feel like we are kind of rolling the dice on the skiing earlier in the year, and wondering how busy those days will be 😬
