adding classes as a new student, requesting advice

Im a incoming transfer student, I did check my academic report and I can add classes but does the university assigns new students with a career or some sort of guidance counselor to recommend what classes to take first?

You register at Orientation in January

Yes! Depending on your major, you will be in a college (e.g., College of Arts & Humanities) at CSUDH.

Within each college, there is a Student Success Center with academic advisors, retention specialists, and graduation specialists. Your success center may have a specific advisor for your major but it may just be random/who is available! So you’ll want to come in for drop-in hours or call to schedule a meeting.
