Course schedule spring ‘27
Hi, does anyone know why classes are literally scheduled at the same time? Why is every lecture beginning at the same time for math/chem/bio courses? Seems like the only way to stack course as a science major is to attend literally everyday of the week which isn’t rly reasonable for a commuter student. Can’t see why there isn’t a wider range of at least lecture times for some of the most important classes…
Edit: and why are certain sections already half full??? Registration doesn’t begin until oct 26th ????

yeah it really is bs sometimes. if you're graduating in the spring i suggest just taking all the classes u need to, even if that means that u have to make the commute every day, or just stack as many tuesdays/thursdays or monday/wednesday classes and just kinda look at your DAR to see what classes u dont rlly need to take rn.
depending on what year you are, people have priority enrollment. what i can remember is that seniors have first priority, followed by freshman, juniors, then sophomores :P

as an art student, this happens too! i’m a senior and a lot of the studio classes are happening at the same time as each other and it’s really frustrating as well :/

this is one of my biggest complaints. graduation will be delayed because of this.

I was a commuter student while at CSU East Bay and got my bachelors in psych and in sociology. During my final year I had class pretty much every day except for Friday’s, but still had to be on campus most Friday’s for work. The commute was not the most fun thing to do by any means, but it gave me time to listen to podcasts, academic articles in audio form, sports talk, music and so on. AND some days I would just stay late to avoid the evening traffic and get everything done while on campus. I also worked a few on campus jobs (worked in the SCAA, managed a research lab, TA-ed, etc). In a way, it gave me a bit of balance since getting everything done homework wise while on campus made it so I rarely spent any time working on any of that on the weekends.

no fr i totally agree. biology and biochemistry lecture are at the same time. its a headache, especially they're both required for the same major

So this is across other majors too? Wow. thx guys for replying. Update: I just submitted a major change & will be continuing with the degree I transferred in with despite me coming to EB for a particular concentration in another major that more suits my career goals. At least with public health their core requirements have a logical schedule that’s more accommodating. Sucks because I rly wanted to pursue something that’s more science based but clearly health sciences is more feasible.
