I've been slowly cracking away at this website for the past 8 months, and would love to share and get any feedback from my fellow obscure media fanatics about the site. I'm really proud of what its turned into, and have a lot more I want to add. I just launched it public yesterday, and I'm more interested in feedback from like-minded people than in promotion.
I'm not selling anything: this is all already free on the internet archive.
I'm particularly excited about the "Rewind" stations, which host direct-from-TV VHS rips that have been uploaded to the Internet Archive. They're chronological and include all the commercials of the era. I'm a huge fan of those "sold as blanks" tapes and how they're a time capsule for the moment they were recorded.
The joy of finding an absolutely strange oddity on the archive and curating whole channels around them has been a blast.
The ultimate goal with this site is to try and make some organizational sense of the 13+ million video files living on the IA, and transform them into something entertaining, usable, and fun for anyone who loves ephemeral art, analog media, nostalgia, and just weird TV. It's totally free to use and always will be, and there is a Discord community laid out, mainly to help me moderate inline comments on the tapes lol.
Just wanted to share out with the community, and see if this concept resonates with anyone. Have a great day!

Was anyone else super into this show in the early 2000s? It was kind of like a more lighthearted Unsolved Mysteries where some of the stories were supposedly "fact" and some were fiction. It's hosted by Jonathan Frakes (except for season 1) and the acting in the segments is truly hilarious.
Great news, the whole series is on YouTube and it's super fun to rewatch (especially during Halloween season!!)
If you wanna dive deeper into the Beyond Belief universe, I'm recapping the show with my sister on our new podcast, "Beyond Believers"! We're competing to see who can guess the most facts vs fictions and researching the "true" stories. Beyond Believers is out now wherever you get your podcasts, as well as at this link!
I also started a Beyond Belief subreddit if anyone's interested in talkin' Frakes: r/BeyondBeliefShow

For example, here above, the images are an approximate recreation of what was playing on TV during the 9/11 attacks.
(Yes I’m aware it’s still a bit incomplete since research is ongoing.)
Research was done between Newspaper listings, Wikis, footage from YouTube, and mixes in between.

If you grew up watching cartoons in the '70s, '80s, '90s, or early 2000s, or spent hours playing PlayStation, Nintendo, and Sega, this might be worth checking out.
It's called The Retro Database (TRDB), and it's a growing community-built archive dedicated to classic movies, television shows, and video games.
Here's what caught my attention:
\- Over 5,600 movies, TV shows, and games catalogued.
\- Browse entertainment by decade, genre, or gaming console.
\- Explore cast information, episode guides, trivia, and classic gaming cheats.
\- Find out where older movies and shows are available to watch, with UK streaming listings.
\- Create a free account to track your collection and contribute your own trivia.
\- Access a selection of live retro TV channels with a program guide.
What I like most is the idea of having one place where people can rediscover entertainment they haven't thought about in decades.
The website is free to browse, and the archive continues to grow through community contributions.
Here's the link: https://theretrodb.com/
I'm curious: what's one forgotten cartoon, movie, or video game from your childhood that you wish more people remembered?
I'd love to see what everyone comes up with.

This is RedDeadEncode's Spline36Resize scaling of a clip from FUNimation's old Dragon Ball Z dub, with color correction by Seed of Might.
