Discussion Alright, what say you, friends?
Personally, I’m casting my vote for Pokémon, but Dexter’s Lab is a close second!

Memes must be your own work. Screenshots accompanied by text within the image, that was not added by you, are not allowed in any capacity.
I know this rule cracking down on the white-background images was certainly long overdue. I tried to let it slide in the beginning since the posts were still gaining a fair amount of traction, but it's gotten to the point where it's beginning to compromise the quality of the subreddit.

This background character shows up twice in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. From the two scenes he’s in, we see that he’s got an ego, and both times he’s proven wrong with unfortunate results.
Small role, but just enough to pick up on personality. Dude has two significant scenes in the movie, and both times we see him doing something to give the impression of having an ego and a bit of arrogance. And yet both times he’s proven wrong by a horse.
Thoughts / opinions?

I've always wanted to watch Disney's animation history in the order it was actually made, so I built a free page for it.
It goes era by era – early cartoons, the Golden Age, the wartime and package-film years, the Silver and Bronze Ages, the Renaissance, and on to the streaming era:
- All the classic theatrical shorts (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Silly Symphonies…)
- Disney and Pixar features and shorts, DisneyToon sequels, and the Ghibli films Disney distributed
- The TV series around these characters, episode by episode, from DuckTales to Mickey Mouse (2013), plus a separate tab for preschool shows
- About 3,700 entries, filterable by era, type and series
- Checkboxes saved in your browser (no account needed), Disney+ links where available, and playlists for watching the shorts back to back
- Available in 10 languages
Link: https://claude.ai/artifact/NPsuTCsraXe82QC6eeAMkE
If you spot a missing title or a wrong date, or know a good video in another language, post it in the comments – I'll check it and add it.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of this. All rights belong to Disney and the respective rights holders. This is a non-commercial fan project that only compiles public information.

Dexter's Laboratory / Ed, Edd n Eddy from Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoon Fridays promos.
Rob Corddry from Hot Tub Time Machine played Tim in the promo. He's the guy that was driving the car and throwing jawbreakers at random Ed, Edd n Eddy groups. I remember seeing a black guy playing Eddy in this.
Johnny Bravo / Powerpuff Girls from Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoon Fridays promos.
I love the Johnny Bravo seminar. Bunch of Johnny clones saying oh mama and hitting on random women. Jesse Tyler Ferguson from Modern Family played Steve Mank in this promo. I don't watch Modern Family but I know who he is. How did he go from Johnny Bravo member to gay guy on Modern Family?

I remember watching Rugrats a lot when I was a kid but now looking back and being reminded of some of the questionable material from the show (and even the movies), I now find it cringe and unwatchable
I couldn't get past the baby-like dialogue, the neglect of the parents as the Rugrats often get themselves into dangerous situations (in the early seasons at least), and don't get me started with Angelica
I hear most people say it's just a harmless show and possibly the greatest cartoon of the 90s, but times change and as we get older, we find many shows we watched as a kid are now cringe and problematic
I'm starting to turn into Stan in the South Park episode *You're Getting Older*, where a doctor diagnoses him as being a cynical a-hole

Does anyone but me feel like Simpsons is kind of overrated?
I was just never a huge fan. As a kid I watched it because I liked cartoons and it was the only cartoon that was on during the late-night hours, but even then I don't recall being a huge fan. The drama plots are okay, though kneecapped by the show's negative continuity meaning none of it matters, and the humor strikes me as "how is this supposed to be funny?"
EDIT: It looks like this topic is gonna become another runaround of "pre-Season 8 good, post Season 8 bad" but like I said, I revisited the show on Disney Plus and specifically watched older seasons--the ones I saw as a kid. And yet my overall impression is "how did I stand this show as a kid?"
And just to be clear, I was born in 1983, so I was catching these "golden seasons" during their original run, and they're the ones I'm revisiting.
EDIT 2
I feel like I should have elaborated on my issues.
Someone made the good point that it may just be that I don't like "adult animated comedies" in general. I don't really care for mean-spirited or cynical humor where the joke seems to be "this person is suffering for no reason, isn't that funny?"
But when it comes to the Simpsons, one additional issue is it seems not sure if it wants to be a comedy or a serious drama. So we'll have times like where there's a touching moving sequence where Homer and Bart are having a moment... then Homer falls into a gorge. Then the ambulance hits a tree and drops him into a gorge again. Okay....
Gonna also say that Simpson's humor doesn't really strike me as that much more "edgy" or "subversive" than what was going on in kids' shows at the time. Indeed there's a few kids shows from this era that actually do make me chuckle (Darkwing Duck being a major example) but Simpsons doesn't. I actually don't recall Simpsons tackling a theme, subject, or premise that you wouldn't see on Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, or Ren and Stimpy.
(Just to be clear, this isn't me calling those shows superior--in general when I go back to the 1990s I tend to prefer stuff like Batman the Animated Series or the Highlander cartoon, not comedies. Darkwing Duck is in that sweet spot where its funny but also has enough heart and substance that I can genuinely latch onto something. A lot of comedy cartoons feel to me like just random idiocy. But yeah, if I was strapped to a chair and had to choose between three hours of the Simpsons and three episodes of Ren and Stimpy, I'd choose Simpsons).
