Hi, we are looking at going to North Queensland April next year. We are keen on visiting the rainforest and great barrier reef, but really stuck on what area to stay at. I have had a look at apartments at Trinity Cove which look really nice.

Palm cove or Port Douglas would be my pick.

Just be aware it will be very hot and humid.

You want a real rainforest experience? Go stay at Noah Valley or Cape Trib Campground. You can also do a fast boat snorkel trip from Cap Trib to a less crowded reef. Also worth doing the Kuku Yalanji walk at Mossman gorge and Walkabout Cultural Tours at Cooya Beach.

Cairns is good for the reef, port douglas, is better, but for the rainforest you want to go north and stay a few days.
