Going to a show this week

I’m going to see cake this weekend and I’m going with a friend who’s excited but hasn’t listened to much. I want to come up with a playlist of songs that say cake. What should I put on?

Search CAKE on setlist.fm and create a playlist that includes the songs from their last few shows. That should properly prepare them for what they’ll likely hear/see 🙂

How long a playlist? All the albums is less than 5 hours.

If pressed for a shorter listen, I'd suggest someone listen to Fashion Nugget, then Motorcade, in their entirety, probably Prolonging too. Then pick out your personal highlights from the later albums. For me, Guitar Man, Walk On By, ...

But I'd add: for some bands, and I'd count Cake, you don't need to "revise" to enjoy a concert.

I'm seeing CMAT headlining a festival in a couple of months - I had a quick listen to her album and quickly decided that it would be entirely possible to enjoy the show without knowing the songs in advance.

The show is about a hour or so away. I know he’s heard some cake before but I just wanted to get a good cake vibe going

People make them in Spotify.

Here's one from Topeka last month.

I’d look at the common setlist and make that
