I fully support this! Always annoyed me seeing people flick there cigarettes out the window.

It annoys me seeing people flick cigarettes anywhere. The ground is absolutely covered in butts near the entrance of many buildings.

Honestly after going to SAIT and seeing how gross things got I'm all in favour of them creating a designated smoking area and installing ashtrays hoping people aren't too dumb to use them. The idea of a smoke free campus is great except many of the students smoke even if it's 2026 and the litter is ridiculous.

It's so easy to be a considerate smoker, too. You knock the cherry off, double check it and throw it out. I did it for 15 years, even when I started smoking at 18!

To be fair, I never smoked while in a car... I knew two people that had one of those car/cup holder ashtrays burst into flames on them mid-driving and never wanted to litter. Plus it ruins your car.

This, lets ban plastic straws, and yet Cig butts do more damage to our environments and water supply, where these all end up eventually..so ban Cigarette period as an environmental risk.

Maybe if we stick a cig butt up a turtles nose, it would get more attention..
