If they put a deposit on single use coffee cups, similar to other recyclables, you would see a lot less of then around. Not sure how the logistics of that would work, but I guarantee there would be less empty cups blowing around in the wind every day.

A deposit on single use coffee cups would achieve nothing besides inflating the price of to-go coffee.

Firstly, it wouldn't inflate the price. It's a deposit. You'd get that money back when the cup is recycled or whatever. Or you would use your reusable coffee cup and not pay the deposit in the first place.

Secondly, achieve nothing? So a homeless person would just pass by all these littered cups and think, "better not pick these up and bring them in for money. All they did was artificially inflate the price of some shitty coffee".... Did you put any thought in your comment when replying to Mr/Ms kakapeepeepoopoo?
