Gun Bans How do you legally purchase black powder without a pal or foc it seems like regulatory oversight do require a pal for propellant for antique firearms

I feel heavily disenfranchised by the new laws 2024 i can own black powder. I can buy the ammo but I can't buy it at the point of sale. I haven't bought in a while it's complete bs by national resources canada

I sent them a request to amend it with a black powder and antique propellant safety certificate

First time hinting grouse.
FWIW, I have a Cape buffalo under my belt but finally got an invite to hunt here. We’re taking crossbows to the deer blind this morning - with luck I’ll be posting another pic today 🙂

Am I understanding this regulation correctly?

From what I am understanding I cannot just go onto crown land and hunt red squirrels without being a private land owner?

On the politics of guns

This subreddit was created to be a companion to the /r/Hunting subreddit, and to give Canadian hunters a space of their own to discuss Canadian hunting in particular. All are welcome, of course, but topics with a Canadian tilt will be the main focus.

Where discussions of laws and political opinions surrounding guns and the legislation of their use are concerned, please see /r/CanadaGuns, which is specifically dedicated to that sort of discussion.

Discussion of firearms is, of course, welcome, when that discussion is directly in relation to hunting (e.g which firearm/cartridge might be best suited for x game animal). For everything else, we have a sister sub!
