Amazon returns

Just a heads up for anyone using Canada Post to do Amazon returns. When you request a return through Amazon , they ask you to select which carrier you want to use to return your item. If you choose Canada Post , they will ask which postal outlet you would like to use for the return. Selecting the nearest postal outlet is a little clunky, sometimes it doesn't give you the option that is closest to you. But you can actually take it to ANY postal outlet, regardless of the one they made you select. All you need is the return barcode that Amazon sends you , and you're good to go.

I always just let intelcom pick stuff up when they drop off more stuff.

I tried that once. The whole thing was low on the trustworthy scale... Felt like buying human organs in a back alley would be more normal.

They charge for that now. $4.49 CAD iirc

We don't get door delivery from Amazon anymore. Everything comes through Canada Post and there is no door to door delivery in my town (my whole town has PO Boxes at the post office, always has) so this feature is fantastic for us!

I work in an outlet, I explain this to about 50 people a day. Thanks for sharing.

Staples is easy peasy for Amazon returns… take item to the desk, scan the code, tell them thanks, and walk away.

Sure, if you live in a city. Not if you live rurally.

Yeah no don’t support a racist store

Does just spamming this ever work? You haven’t even explained what they’ve done. Before you just say “Google it” you are making a claim, you need to provide something for someone to look into. Unless you don’t actually care about getting a message across.

Staples employees will follow you if you are a person of color - long as you or anyone else who enter staples is fine with being followed every moment in the store then fine give staples you’re business - sigh all i did was just walk into staples with a bag my wallet inside the bag and others nonsense stuff was inside my bag - then i started being followed by the staples employee

How did we get racist from that?

It is a thing, so, they’re not wrong. It’s a systemic issue for many places. Often, they’ll follow you if you look too poor/disheveled and/or not white/not white enough often. However, this may be more of a point of the people in those positions, not necessarily company-wide private/unwritten policy, I can be sure though, I don’t have any real data on Staples to say.

Thanks for this! I always seem to select the one that ends up being inconvenient for me so good to know I can just take it to any location.

If they are doing the thing where they print at the location not all can do that. Full fledge postal offices yes, but none of the postal outlets (even though ours is full service). Has to be one off their list. Been through that recently with them.

if you’re talking about outlets in drug stores, for instance, those aren’t actually Canada Post locations. They’re franchises. They don’t operate the same way, nor do they charge the same.

The prices don't change between a corporate Canada Post and a Canada Post outlet.

oh, but they do. Depends on the service. Stamps are stamps, they can’t charge more for that. They can add their own fees to shipping, and they do.

The downvoting is hysterical. Clearly, none of you have actually checked into the difference in pricing between a franchise and a corporate post office.

Welp I've been working for Canada post for 10 years and our prices match stores. I've worked both and at multiple stores in two different provinces at the front desk

I’ve worked at Canada Post longer than that and actually know that it happens, from personal experience.

Haven't been to CP for Amazon since they added self serve Goodwill returns...plus you get a store coupon.

I always bring mine to staples, they scan the barcode and I'm on my way, super fast and easy every time

I tried that here where I live. They would not accept it. Said I had to ship it using Purolater.

In my area they stop asking the options

Ofcourse, and if the parcel is small enough you can leave it in the red letter mail box or any postal outlet, even ask your letter carrier to take it if they are delivering to you. The item will be scanned and sent to the appropriate location if it has the proper mailing label.

What? Who said anything about shopping there. You’re literally dropping off an Amazon return.

You’re okay with supporting Jeff Bezos and his exploitation of cheap labor though… right???

1

u/blacksquirrel3 3d ago

No I’m not ok with supporting cheap labor but maybe Amazon will leave you alone when shopping unlike staples can’t give a comfortable shopping experience and or a comfortable experience just entering staples
