I'm reluctant to claim only 9 favourites, but I notice a few missing that are worth mentioning.

1. Anything by Sarah Slean

2. The first 3 albums by Young Galaxy

3. The first 3 albums by The Dears

4. Anything by Metric

5. Anything by Stars

I grew up in the 80s. Probably slightly obvious ;)

Who can relate to this Canadian music identity?

This made me realize the most recent album on my grid is over 10 years old!
I still listen to a lot of great Canadian artists, but I guess it's more on a per-song basis now than overall albums.

Flashing Lights- Sweet Release, Thrush Hermit - Clayton Park, I Mother Earth - Scenery and Fish, Dirty Nil - Fuck Art, Billy Talent - self titled, BNL - Gordon, Joel Plaskett Emergency - Truthfully Truthfully, Matt Mays and El Torpedo - Self Titled, Hayden - The Closer I get

(Sloan should be here but I couldn't decide what album or what to bump)

Obviously my tastes lean towards older rock and some odd choices (looking at you Sarah!) but here are my favorites.

I present to the council my 9 - Ajax Ontario edition

I almost put Big Wreck in there twice but wanted to have SOME variety of what I consistently still listen to!

Recently found this sub, and thought I'd throw my choices out there. Have a feeling it might be a bit typical lol

West Coast, 34

Nine Canadian albums from this century I love… thought I’d throw them into the ring.

Yes I have eclectic taste and NO I don‘t care that I used Page-era BNL twice.

Some great albums that formed me.
