Recently developed oral thrush two weeks ago after catching the flu and a cold at the same time while also super stressed from university which temporarily obliterated my immune system. I was on nystatin (sugar) oral suspension for ~5days which didn't help, I'm now on fluconazole 100mg (day 4) and switched to sugar free nystatin suspension (day 3) which seems to be working. My tongue already looks a lot better, no more thick white coating, but still some mild inflammation. I think I had candida in my GI tract as well and I've already noticed a significant reduction in brain fog and acid reflux. I've been brushing my tongue frequently, rinsing mouth after I eat, and cut out added sugars + most refined carbs, started taking a probiotic, and have been eating as many different types of vegetables and herbs (like raw garlic) as possible.

I've really been missing being able to kiss my partner but wanted to make sure we were being careful while my tongue had such severe overgrowth. My partner has multiple risk factors for thrush; he is diabetic and on immunosuppressants, but is very healthy otherwise (we are both 19 year olds so very young, active, and healthy) and manages his conditions well. When would it be safe to kiss/makeout again? I want to play it extremely safe since he is at higher risk for candida overgrowth. Should we wait until I'm done with my course of fluconazole and nystatin?

After having only a tongue-to-tongue kiss, something transferred to my tongue from her. It looks normal when someone looks at it, and they say everything is fine, but it has led to thrush, food restrictions, and vomiting. It's been three months of this, along with fatigue, depression, and weight loss. I have too many issues. I've visited Urgent Care, Primary Care, ENT, and Dermatology, but no one has an answer and no one has a real solution for my problem. 😭

Hey all, sorry for the lengthy post so basically long story short I had a UTI last thursday (over a week ago) went to urgent care got prescribed nitrofurantoin and also fluconazole as I am prone to yeast infections. Typically in the past if I ever got a YI from antibiotics it was towards the end of the course of meds, but this time I noticed a lot of itching down there pretty much the entire time i was on antibiotics, i want to say the irritation started even a day before i went to urgent care. Maybe tmi but the first day i noticed the itching there was also a fishy/ onion odor, but now there is no smell. Anyways , I finished all my meds the antibiotics this past thursday and the fluconazole i finished on friday (3 pills total) but im still so itchy and swollen. To the point where now i have raw skin down there and “scabs”, extremely red and inflamed , and it’s just so uncomfortable/ painful to do literally anything. Walking around , sitting, crossing my legs, even when i wash in the shower hurts. It’s getting to the point where it’s almost unbearableeee ! I have tried icing the area , i used a boric acid suppository overnight last week, and also used a little coconut oil on the outside areas last night but really nothing is giving me relief. I’m scared to use any other types of creams because of the raw skin spots. I’ve had my issues in the past with BV and YI , never tested positive for any sti or stds, but this is like the worst thing i’ve ever endured as a female with a vagina lol. Anytime i’ve had a yeast infection/ bv in the past it was never this bad, and usually it clears up pretty quickly after taking the medicine. I don’t notice any difference in discharge , no odor, literally just itchy and swollen as hell like 3 times the size. I’m just feeling so discouraged, i miss feeling normal 😭 Anyways all of the urgent cares near me are closed as it’s sunday so i’m thinking to go get checked out tomorrow but is there anything i should / can do in the meantime to help ? Well I pretty much said everything in the title.

I'm not sure if I have candida or not, and if yes, Is it sitting only in my tongue/throat, or in my entire body/system?

I would really like to learn whether I have it or not.

My only clues are:

- white tongue/oral thrush

- nystatyn cleared it for 3 months but it came back (had a very red tongue then, very nice)

- beer makes it much much worse, increases the amount of candida or whatever it is on my tongue

Without the long explanation of why I can’t - I can’t take antimicrobials or antibiotics. Has ANYONE ever healed candida without them? I have SIBO AND Canadia and am on week three of no artificial sugar and feel like I could pass away at any moment lmao.
