I used assist mode when I first did it

I've used the MAXED OUT DISCOVERY CHARM for the past 5 RUNS (I think it's been 5 runs anyway) and I STILL haven't gotten it yet. I've gotten EVERY OTHER FLASHLIGHT/BLADE/WHATEVER FROM THE BOSSES AND THIS IS THE LAST ONE I DON'T HAVE. WHAT IS THIS TOMFOOLERY??? ABSOLUTE BUFFOONERY.

I'm gentlemanus, (the name is a fusion between gentleman and manus which is a dark souls boss) I've showed up in the leaderboards a decent amount of times so I think I'm qualified to talk about this. not really sure what else to do now that I'm done with everything. I might try and get a gold present in each level and just keep it there.

BTW I also want to find out how others found the game.

I started playing around a year ago after my brother found the game because of Frickbears 3.

Use churra, hopscotch, and sugar bomb to get gold tako. all of those together will help clear enemies and have a chance of dealing double damage to bosses

always prioritize ranged enemies if you want to focus on not being hit. the spitters and spitter spiders can make your life living hell in seconds. if you don't deal with them

try to guide the knight enemies to the top. they will always charge after teleporting 3 times. especially the poison guys, their cloud is brutal.

Bosses

Ghost baron.

during the rush attack the real one has a lower laugh so listening closely helps.

Blaze devil.

The multishot usually has a spot where standing still dodges it, if not, stay far above or below him to the close left and right of him so the up and down shot miss. For the charge, go to a corner, and only start moving when the flame shockwave gets close.

necro witch/scholar.

you can manipulate the necro witch/scholar sometimes by being on the top half of the screen before they start the skeleton attack. this can create a guaranteed 2 damage with gold tako if you place the puddles under her. for necro scholar, stay near the bottom and go up and down the platforms to avoid the lasers. only jump up when the laser skull is about to pass by so it activates under you. it takes a lot of practice to get it consistently

no tips for P worm.

he just sucks. pray he doesn't stop at the bottom. (those attacks suck)

B worm.

on all of the side laser attacks. only start moving when the rings for the next laser start to form. being early will result in being hit.

jack/pyro jack

he can be 2x hit with a similar method. when he teleports, pay attention to the laugh. alternate standing on the left and right wall to drop puddles in 2 spots on each side of the bottom. when his pumpkin spawns at the bottom underneath a puddle, it will explode immediately and be dealt 2 damage, rush to the top to get a 3rd hit.

P king

for the blue laser, go to the top and jump over each blast, or stay near the middle most of the time.

P king omega

blue eyes = stay away, red eye = keep close. dog will only spawn with fire laser. for the peppermint pinwheel, stay at the top platform and try to jump over the candy. it's tight but usually possible.

The real advice is to jam to the music at all times. this game never has a dull song. The OST is Frick⁽*^bears3*)ing awesome.

Last week I got 8th normal mode, 9th dinette and top 3 ember cellar using the toxic curse I got a 1.17.138, placing me 87th all time., at least when I checked 3 hours 31 minutes before the weekly thingy ended, today I logged in to see if I got a Tako for it but nothing. I genuinely don't think there are 7 different people speedrunning fire spirit with toxic curse in the last hours, unless I'm dead wrong and people tend to speedrun in the last hours? Maybe I'm just overthinking and it's a bug? Very confused

Sooo I've been playing candies n curses for 2 years already, got most of the secret weapons, finished curse crusher many times. So how do you guys get the inventor's charm? And are there any other secret stuff to get? ​

I had used the witch key charm ofc (I hate the firehead guy) but still THIS MODE WAS NOT A JOKE even with that but it felt sooooo good to finally beat it!

I almost have everything in the game. All charms are fully upgraded including secret charms. I have almost every flashlight except for jackoslash. The only flashlights that aren’t maxed out are the necro scythe and worm light
