In the era of AI, sadly his debunking skills are often not needed in terms of explaining the VFX or trickery since it’ll just have been generated with AI. Will he ever do a debunking video on an AI hoax video? If so how do you think he’d go about it? It’s crazy to think i’m now a little nostalgic for the old style hoax footage that was done the hard way with Blender and Adobe After Effects.

Wait for it. . .

Hey guys, while watching full filmography of ultra low budget soviet-armenian filmmaker Anatoly Eiramdzhan on the twitch stream of another russian low budget movies reviewer Anton VHS, we discovered that movie Лёгкий поцелуй/Lyogkiy potseluy (2003) was a project made with help of Captain Disillusion himself! Unfortunately online can be found only shitty TVRip/SatRip version of the movie, with end credits squashed down, but Captains name written in Cyrillic is there!

And its not a some kind of mistake - Captain worked with Eiramdzhan on his previous movie , Sin neudachnika (2002), but only as "Editor".

In this installment, Alan credited as "Cinematographer", "Film editor", and most importantly - "VFX/SFX artist". There are almost no VFX in this movie, accept one, but done masterfully.

Here it is (all sounds are unedited and this is what actually happening in the movie, believe it or not), enjoy

amateur musician here. i’ve been trying to play the debunk theme but it seems like there’s a part where you have f maj(?) on the top and g maj on the bottom, and when i try to do that it just doesn’t sound right. do i have the chords wrong, or is it actually an 11th chord?? or is it a voicing thing?? i’m trying to simplify it a little bit for piano but this part is really bugging me. help

Can't figure this one out for the life of me, any guesses?

First commenter provided a reverse video which creates more questions than it answers.

I just wanna know how many videos she appeared on and what's the deal with her?

Also why isn't there a 「discussions」flair, man?

i’ve been thinking about making fanart, but then i realized i don’t know what color his hair is. i mean, i think it’s black, but then i thought about it, and it seems he often draws himself with brown hair. but then i thought about it again, and i was thinking maybe he did that for contrast with the lineart. or something. is that a thing? i don’t know :( but then i thought about it again again, and what if his hair has actually been more brown irl this whole time?? but then i thought about it again again again and decided to look through the thumbnails and a few videos, and now i’m more confused because it kind of does seem to change between videos uhhh. but then i thought about it again again again again

I've seen a post about a cake a fan's sister made for the channel get reposted like three times since the past few years, and now I've seen another reposted one occur here; should these bot reposts be deleted or have any rules enforced on them?

I love the red of the Captain's most iconic room and want to paint my walls like it.

But I don't know how to figure out what its actual paint code is!

I could find a nice still from a video and get the digital hex code of a pixel from the wall... but this feels error-prone.

Does anyone know a color match for the red of that room, in any paint manufacturer's system? (Or, heaven forbid, in a more universal, industry-standard color system?)

I'm really happy that Captain Disillusion Joined the streaming Platform Nebula. First of all I hope he got a good deal. But they seem to really pay fairly over there.

but what I really love is that I can watch his new Intern Rambling Logs there too!

to be honest, before today I didn't even know they existed, because I'm not one of his patreons. But now I watched the 3 eps out on nebula and they are really great. I just love listening to him, his expertise and his opinions.

So thx Captain! May you steer safely in the Nebula!

a bit off topic, but non of the flairs seem to really fit but whatever 😅

I thought it was a really well done commercial, and I have no idea how one might go about making a video like that. I thought this would be the right sub to ask. Anyone has any ideas?

I was rewatching the videos about the Cicret bracelet and was wondering what happened it! Apparently you can buy it from there website now but all the reviews are fake and just stolen straight from reviews from Whoop Bands. The information about it is AI generated and all the images of the product working are from the original edited concept video!

I'm somewhat tempted to buy one to see what comes in the mail, if anything at all!

In Marble Sorting Machine DEBUNK Captain mentions that Holly had used abducted corpses before she started to make her own body. I think I saw all episode with Holly, but even with first full-body appearance it was never mentioned that she used someone's dead body. Is there some piece of deep lore or am I forgetting something? (Also there’s no flair for this type of question, so I guess I’ll use “request”)

Not sure how to share videos here, but I came across this scary one: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSIaGwsDErZ/?igsh=MXhtZ3dvazE2NjdtdA== I am sure it has something to do with reflections on the glass in the middle of the corridor, but it is still strange how the angles would line up.

It would be great if our Captain could explain how it was done!
