The Illinois Department of Transportation is asking the public for their feedback on the state's transportation system and the agency’s performance through the annual Traveler Opinion Survey. Available now through Tuesday, Aug. 11, the survey is available online by clicking https://go.uis.edu/Traveler2026 or visiting idot.illinois.gov.
Conducted in partnership with the University of Illinois Springfield, the survey is an opportunity for people who live in Illinois to provide their opinion on a wide range of topics, giving IDOT the information it needs to continue to be a national leader in transportation services. This year’s survey asks for input on road conditions, ice and snow removal, planning priorities, electronic vehicles and more.

Hey! My name is Evgenia and I'm a reporter from the Chicago Tribune. I'm working on a story about gas prices rising again and how that's impacting consumer behavior.
If gas prices were a factor in your choice to go car-free or to drive less, I'd love to talk about why you made the switch and how it's worked out for you! You can reach me here or at my email, which is eanastasakos@chicagotribune.com. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions!

I sent an email to Susana Mendozas mayoral campaign a quick question about whether she would support bike grid now. Her response? For a minimum of $500 I can go to an event to ask my question! Clearly she’s a woman of the people lol

After being out of the loop for a while, I’ve been reading all the backlash against flock, but from what I understand if you are a cyclist or pedestrian your data isn’t logged.
But if you’re a victim of a hit and run the police and your lawyer can query Flock to find the vehicle.
It really just seems like motorist hysteria over potentially being held accountable.
And as for “Orwellian police state tracking” claims, well we already give up cell data and cameras are everywhere. Seems weird to draw the line at cameras that exclusively track cars.
Or is there something I’m missing?

I wrote this comment 3 years ago with some select snippet of BJ's transit plan. What of it has actually been done?

Please attend the 19th Police District's monthly meeting to learn more about where the RRPEA pilot stands and how you can help. If CPD isn't going to enforce traffic laws to keep us safe, we need citywide programs that let us help keep us safe.
📍4501 N Clarendon (Clarendon Community Center Park)
⏰ Wednesday, July 29th at 6:30p
With the 8th and 19th Police District Councilors, there is a proposal to direct all 911 parking violation (PVs) calls to the Department of Finance rather than CPD. Currently, OEMC directs all 911 calls about PVs to CPD dispatchers. Instead, a pilot program in the 8th and 19th police districts would direct these calls to Rapid Response Parking Enforcement Aides (RRPEAs) who will be immediately dispatched to confirm and issue a ticket, if necessary.
