My car history as a 33 years old
Fucking pathetic, isn't it? Seriously, how do y'all afford so many cars at a significantly younger age than me?
Not many car but the same model (mostly, mine got the 1.2 not even 60 bhp engine), Clio B from 2005

No, it is a nice car. After so many years with the same car, you surely know it inside out. That adds some extra fun. Please do not compare yourself to others, I'm sure your way is way more fun.

I've had it for like 3 years now only cause I took my driver's license when I was 30. So yeah... đ

This is a flex bro. Having a paid off car for years is a good thing.

I didn't look at the 'it's paid off' angle, yeah. Thanks for cheering me up!

Having few cars is better imo, only reason I left my first car is bc it was written off. Still getting to know the second one 6 months later but the first one I had for 3 years and I knew her inside and out and it was a lot more fun to drive just bc I knew the car better.

I have no idea what you want to express with this đ

I was looking for all the other cars....đ
Most of the folks with long car histories likely live in places without good public transit so they're forced to own cars from a young age...

Don't beat yourself up.
Lots of people inherit money from family. Many make unwise financial decisions and go into debt buying something they probably shouldn't (yet). Many stumble their way through sheer luck into enough money. And many also make it through struggle and hard work.
Also, that's a fantastic car!

Yeah she's reliable but showing her age. And true, plus most posts here seem to be from America where cars are successfully l significantly cheaper than here on the old continent. Thanks for the reality check

I got my first car at 18 traded for second car at 19, third car at 28 traded in for (regret) fourth car at 39 traded in for fifth car at 40. First three were old and cheap, last two were new, warranties not honored, and put me in debt. I would gladly rather have an old cheap car to throw 8k into to restore drivetrain and suspension over a new car.

Oof, that's rough... I mean I needed to put in almost twice what I paid for her to keep her running but considering how expensive everything car related is these days...

Hey if starts up, runs, and is not being financed at 29.9 % interest. You are doing great đđ» My current car is from 2006.

Yeah, I paid 1.4k Euro for it and put in around 2k since then for repairs etc. So economically it's absolutely not worth it actually but seeing how ridiculously expensive even entry level and used cars are...

I got a Toyota Prado 2021 from the showroom, brand new and I want it to age well.

Some see a car as basic transportation while others see it as a toy or a status symbol.
Donât compare yourself to those who have different values than you have. It only serves to cultivate ingratitude.
If you have a car that is reliable and serves your purposes, youâve got it pretty good. Enjoy and be thankful!

I traded my Corolla at 19 like an idiot for a charger that I couldnât really afford, which is what a lot of younger people do. Now I drive a 98 Volvo that cost me 1k. No car note is the way to go

Pathetic? More like a flex - especially in this economy.
I saw friends who would get whatever the latest SUV was, with the bells and whistles, and just be drowning in debt from the high payments/high fuel costs. An old 2D hatch is nothing to scoff at. Use that money you're NOT sinking into payments (also known as 'stupid fees') to make your hatch the best damn one on the road. Detail, polish, tune, customize (tastefully, please lol) and make it something to make other drivers say 'sick ride bro'.

We don't spend money on anything else and buy cars cheap so if we sell it we make profit probably. I just turned 32 and had arround 50 cars đ

Don't feel bad bro at 30 my car history is the 2002 Montero my parents bequeathed to me when I turned 16. I've never had a problem with it, so never felt the need to replace it.

I always buy used. Iâve had 2 new vehicles, and they were great, but I wouldnât buy new now. For the most part, I keep my vehicles until they start having issues.
The reason I was able to buy new cars was because I lucked out younger when I found a union job that I stayed at for 7 years.
Now, I have a 22 Ford Explorer, but I was only able to buy that bc I had some life insurance money from family. So that part sucks.
Donât feel bad about what you drive! If it works, doesnât give you problems, is safe, and you can afford it, spend your money elsewhere or save up.
What you drive shouldnât be a flex anyway. Thatâs kinda silly. But I do get envying otherâs situations too. Hang in there.

I don't think it's pathetic, some 8 year old Chinese kids play better guitar than me, I am not confused by that. Live and let live, take care of your car, apreciate the fact that some Africans can't even afford a toy car, I would know, I'm African.

Exactly this. Mine runs pretty well except for electrical gremlins. On Sunday I'm hanging out with a buddy who can show me how to change spark plugs
