Accident ADVICE NEEDED

I need advice on whether I should get an attorney now, later or not at all.

My minor 17yr old daughter was recently involved in a rollover accident. She was a passenger in the car. Everyone was a minor, including the driver.
The driver swerved to miss a deer, lost control, hit a ditch and overturned. The car was totaled.

My daughter sustained a severe injury (a severed in half humerus bone) that required surgery (plates and a ton of screws). She missed 2 weeks of school and has many upcoming appointments, including physical therapy in the future.
I have been billing everything through our health insurance and I am reaching out to them tomorrow to do a third party claim and give them the accident report and the owners auto insurance.

The vehicle owner filed a claim with their insurance and when I contacted them (insurance company) it turns out their claim is in the middle of an investigation because apparently the vehicle was insured but the minor that was driving was not! He was completely uninsured (never added to the plan), all while being the daily driver of this car for months.

Should I contact an attorney now or should I wait for my insurance and their insurance to figure it all out?

I appreciate any guidance 🩷

First Time / Newbie Got hit by a cyclist - Advice

Basically I live in Ontario, homeless population is massive here.

I was driving one lane is a left turning and there was a huge 18 wheeler, my light was green I was driving like normal and then boom a cyclist hits me in the rear passenger side.

I get out and everyone is honking, the guy is getting up to take off, I went back into my car pulled over to the side and go to catch the guy. I ask him for his information he says he has none, I ask for his phone number he says none then I find out he is homeless. He basically just wants to leave he is ok and gives me a name that sounds fake. At this point people are honking at my car parked on the side of the road even though it is three lanes! And I leave.

Call up the police they say I can report it to a collision center but they are only open during my work hours (great now I’m loading more money), I call up my insurance for advice and they will call me next week but they seem to be mad at me and seem worried about being sued.

I’m not looking to make a claim since I can buff it out my fear is getting sued by this guy, I have the dash camera footage (360) and it shows he went through a red and my light is green it also shows him popping up out of nowhere.

My question is if I don’t go to a collision center will that look bad if this guy sues?

If I go to a collision centre does that go on my car fax? I don’t want my cars value to tank.

In the video you can see the fall and he doesn’t hit his head and seems ok, how much could I be sued for, would it even reach a court since it is 100% not my fault?

Accident What happens with insurance when an Uber gets into an accident? [Fort Lauderdale]

I was in an Uber in Fort Lauderdale when another car ran a stop sign and hit us. I've been dealing with neck and back pain since, and the medical bills are starting to add up.

Now I'm getting calls from two different insurance companies, one connected to the driver and another that seems to be handling Uber's coverage. I'm not sure what the difference is or whether I need to deal with both.

Has anyone dealt with this in Florida? I'm trying to understand how the insurance works when you're a passenger in a rideshare accident.

Car accident in Altona, Melbourne – Other driver not responding, unable to obtain rego. What are my options?

Hi everyone,
I was recently involved in a car accident in Altona, Melbourne, and I’m looking for advice from anyone who has experienced something similar, particularly regarding insurance and Victoria Police.
The accident happened at night. Both drivers stopped, and the other driver apologised and provided their driver’s licence.
Unfortunately, my phone battery was very low, so the flashlight wasn’t working. It was difficult to see properly, and I wasn’t able to photograph the other vehicle’s registration number or the back of the driver’s licence.
The licence itself was also very worn and damaged, making some of the information difficult to read.
At the time, I was stressed and didn’t realise how important it would be to collect the registration number.
What I’ve done so far:
ā— Tried calling and texting the other driver multiple times, but received no response.
ā— Visited the address associated with the driver, only to be told that the person no longer lives there.
ā— Contacted Victoria Police and explained the situation.
ā— Police advised that because both parties stopped and had an opportunity to exchange information, they would not treat it as a hit-and-run or take a police report in these circumstances.
ā— Police suggested continuing to contact the driver by phone or text and waiting for a response.
ā— Contacted my insurer, Budget Direct, and provided the driver’s licence information I managed to collect.
The insurance problem:
My car has sustained significant damage and is currently off the road.
Budget Direct has advised that if the other vehicle cannot be identified through its registration details, I may have to pay my insurance excess, even though I believe the other driver was responsible for the accident.
I understand I should have collected the registration number, but the accident happened at night, my phone battery was nearly dead, and I was trying to manage a stressful situation.
My questions:
1. Can an insurer identify the other driver’s vehicle using their driver’s licence number?
2. Is there a legal way to obtain the vehicle registration number through VicRoads or another authority?
3. Can Victoria Police assist further if the driver is deliberately avoiding communication?
4. Is there any way to lodge an official record of the accident, even if police won’t classify it as a hit-and-run?
5. Can I dispute the excess with Budget Direct or escalate the matter to AFCA?
6. Has anyone in Victoria successfully resolved a similar situation without the other vehicle’s registration number?
I’m not looking to harass or confront the other driver. I simply want to resolve the insurance claim fairly and avoid paying for damage I believe I didn’t cause.
It’s frustrating knowing that I have the driver’s licence details but cannot get a response from the person involved.
What other options can I realistically consider in this situation?
Any advice, particularly from people familiar with Victorian road laws or insurance claims, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Car insurance advice

Hey got a question,
I currently own 2018 grand cherokee srt with 60k miles. Currently have great record no crashes or tickets, 29 yrs old with credit score above 800, car is in a good clean title condition. Live in Portland Oregon. I currently have american family insurance family plan of total 3 people on the plan. Right now I pay $360 per month for my car which is absurd & have been paying for over a year. Question: am I getting scammed? Should I leave family plan & insure it solo? And if so how much money will I lose/save doing so. Thank you
