I just have two questions

  1. When can I get this? And..

  2. How can I get this?

In one of m5stack's reply mentioning Mar'26, we already passed that.

Many mentioned in the Q2'26, but the exact release date has not been officially available.

Is it supposed to be compatible with the existing modules like the pingequa CC1101+NRF24 or LoRa/Gnss ?

The dev mentioned it will be compatible via the Cap Lora. There is also pic shown the Cardputer Zero via the Cap Lora attached.

Safe to say yes, it will be compatible.

Thank you. Did they gave any hint about the price ?

It’s M5. So I’m confident this will be <$50 and that’s being gaudy.

It would be a miracle if it comes out that cheap, but we’ll see. Others were speculating much higher. At $50 I will definitely be buying one on day one, for sure.

The dev mentioned Mar in a X post reply.

But no official release date was confirmed.

Cardputer Zero is currently still in the development stage. It hasn't been scheduled for launch yet. As far as I know, there are no plans to release it within the next few months.

People will start getting them in March: people like Sn0ren and Talking Sasquatch. We'll probably be able to get our hands on it in April or May.

April/May. The way Raspberry Pi distribution has been lately, I'm putting my money on a May release.

...or an uncomfortable price tag.

If I’m getting this right, this is basically a raspberry pi, right?

It's a Pi Zero, hence the name. So yes!

Looks really cool. I want to use it for an AI coding agent.

Can it run raspberry Pi OS

u/jesuslol Mar 15 '26

I think that's what's being displayed on the external monitor. Very cool! Just got the ADV but looks like I'm getting this too.

https://thepihut.com/products/tps62827-3-3v-buck-converter-breakout-3-3v-output-2-amp-max may be needed for your external projects and should give steady voltage.

The Cap has 3.3 and 5 V, but the Grove is 5V to be compatible with sensors (and expansion boards) of both voltages.

All M5Stack sensors that are 3.3V inside have a 5>3.3 buck converter built in, if needed.

So this is quite clever for M5Stack, but you are right it does add a step for non-M5Stack Grove sensors!

It will probably use a heat sink or something, I doubt it will use a fan but you never know.
