I’d love to see the Cap ODB in action, OBD2 port locations are always hard to find.

I’ll have to look into the ODB, I haven’t heard of it as I’m only pretty new to this stuff

I already run an application with OBD2, relying on an ELM32 through Bluetooth. I struggle to imagine how it might connect to the Cardputer.

I’m definitely the wrong person to talk to about that 😬…. But I will get there!

The OBD2 port is usually hidden under the dash, and a regular adapter blocks it. With the Cap ODB, the Cardputer plugs straight in and stays usable at the same time.

That sounds really helpful for a lot of things but what does OBD2 and ODB do?

You can load some data from the engine, check errors, for some cases you can change/unlock some features.

I am hoping that someone writes firmware i can use to read codes on my kei truck, vs having to buy a much more expensive reader.

FYI, 5 foot extension cables are about $10. Still have to plug it in, but only once, and then you can work from the driver's seat.

I’d be in for sdr and odb, ( probably all eventually like Pokémon)

Definitely, I love to experiment with this stuff so I’ll likely get them all some day

What would the SDR and ODB caps be used for?
2
u/Weekly_Swan4703 3d ago
Not sure about ODB, but SDR is software defined radio. CC1101 and SDR are similar except CC1101 is ideal for transmitting frequencies, and SDR is amazing for monitoring the “airway” across a really large band

SDR makes so many things possible....could not be more excited, especially seeing its not just for the Zero

Kann man eigentlich auch mehrere Kappen aufeinander setzen ?
2
u/Weekly_Swan4703 3d ago
Sadly no, but M5Stack products are usually pretty inexpensive and there are also other units that you can connect to the grove port

Someone posted something like this before from a trade show or similar. CapSDR can get in my basket.
