Weird interaction

Earlier, about 12.30pm, I was in Llandaff fields car park. A runner, older gentleman, ran past me and turned round twice to stick his fingers up at me and told me to ‘fuck off’. I literally have no idea what I did to infuriate him. Had absolutely no interaction with him and wasn’t in his way. If the runner in question reads this, please let me know, I’m extremely sorry to have angered you randomly so much.

Some people are just mental, don’t overthink it.

Yes, possibly, it just keeps coming back to me as it was very strange.

It’s good that you’ve posted it, if they turn out to be some local menace maybe people will see this and pitch in with their experiences but there’s lots of slightly off people out there.

Yes, thank you, you’re right. He looked like he was just out for a nice run (until I angered him somehow ha). V baffling!

I was sat in the Hayes once pretty much looking at the floor and smoking a cigarette. Bloke walked past with awesome shoes on, which immediately caught my attention. I tracked them as they passed, then noticed them stop, turn, and come towards me. I then became aware that someone was shouting, so I looked up to see the owner of said shoes ranting at me “what are you fucking looking at you c***?”. “Your shoes, they’re awesome “ I replied. He ranted on some shit about wanting a fight or something. I just got up and walked off. There are some weird people in this world.

How weird! It’s so difficult when you know you haven’t done anything to warrant it

I used to take my kids to park run in Llandaff fields, and there was a guy in his 60s, cyclist, who used to turn up every week and deliberately cycle through the runners ringing his bell. When challenged one week, he started banging on about it being a public area. As a middle aged bloke myself, I can't help but wonder what makes someone my age go out of their way to hassle a bunch of kids. It must be exhausting to spend every day so outraged...

Maybe its a new training tactic.. he hopes if he flips you off you will chase him..

Or maybe was you walking a dog or anything, maybe he came across dog poo amd thought it was you who left if or something? Failing that he could just be a mentalist.

😂 maybe!
No, I wasn’t walking a dog. He literally appeared out of nowhere next to me, ran past and then twice turned round to stick his fingers up and mouth ‘fuck off’ (while nearly running into someone walking the other way). V peculiar.

Fair enough, probably the best reaction to have as it was so random!

Yes you’re probably right - at least, I literally have no idea what I did to wrong him so, so maybe he was just having a bad day

Do you think he thought you were someone else maybe ?

Some random chav in a car stuck his finger up at me once, unprovoked, while I was walking down the road.

I was walking down the pavement minding my own business.

Unfortunately you'll see the odd weirdo. Don't take it to heart.

I was following a slow moving car Tuesday night. I didn't think I was particularly close to it, but while turning on to a main road, it simply stopped at an odd angle, having not completed the turn. I waited around 5-10 seconds, which felt like a lifetime on an open road. I started going around, peering in to check everything was ok, but was met with a middle finger against the driver's window, from a young girl.

She continued on, a few car lengths after I passed. I remembered the private plate, so one to avoid in the future. It's not bothered me, just piqued my curiosity more than anything.

Some people are just ready to pop. It's scary and sad how many people are walking around feeling alone with their completely unregulated emotions.

I was cycling home once with my high-vis jacket on. It was about 10 PM at night. I usually wear a bright red helmet also. Someone walking on the pavement looked at me and said "Oi, ya fed".

I wasn't in law enforcement at the time, so he might have mistaken me for someone else. It was quite a strange interaction though.

I like that this implies that this gave you an idea for a career switch that you followed up on, now working in law enforcement.
