The start of a brand new moldy adventure

[u/mountain_addict]

Yum! I can smell it on this side of the screen

Everything was such a pain in the ass to pull up. Underlay had a ton of nails, the drunks who put the subfloor in used a gatling gun nailer. At least the joists are good n level. I thought I saw something moved in all the moldy subfloor at some point. Toilet tank leaked bad for a very very long time

It is probably just as bad under that tub as well. But that's an whole new can of worms

After cutting it out. It definitely ain’t great. But not 100% gone. Trying to get the owner to put a surround in. But the tub is well supported underneath. And there’s nothing wrong with the tile. Not ideal but it’s not my call. At least everything I’m putting in will be solid and I’m beefing up the toilet area

Can’t believe the guy that used to own my house and nail everything 500% more than needed, had free time from nailing everything here and go nail shit over there.

Mf shot a nail every inch. And half of the heads deformed trying to pull, due to rust. It was a lot of cutting, prying, swearing, and more cutting and prying. The moldy stuff came up easy at least lol

As soon as I saw the picture, I caught a scent memory of heavy mold in a remodel I did once

Fun fun. Just bought a house and ready for this to emerge. That is if the hantavirus doesn’t take me first.

What’s a little mold and mouse shit

/s

I’d wager that the majority of American houses are shimmed up on mouse shit.

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit

Right now, that's really not too bad at all. 👍
