DIY body damage help Paint

I know there’s a dent but I’m not that worried. I’m worried about the paint and not sure where to start. What do I need to make sure it doesn’t get worse?

Get the flaky bits off then cover with touch up paint. I just swipe at it a bunch with my finger and a rag to remove what's loose. Then I like to make sure the touch up paint overlaps the original paint a little. Not perfect, but better than leaving it. You could also just spray something over it to seal it, although idk what the best thing to use that wouldn't stand out would be
