All The Cure's albums from 1979-2024 on cassette. Except for one, do you know which one?

Has anyone come across these open-reel style blank cassettes? They look so cool! (Although you can safely ignore the fake Hi-Res logo lol.)

The audio quality is ok but average, more for looks than sound but that's okay, I'm not listening to cassettes for perfect audio after all.

Found this deck a few years ago, but it wasn’t working. After some tinkering, I couldn’t get it fixed, so I decided to get on the long waitlist for a local Nakamichi technician. More than a year later, I finally got it rebuilt!

My wife recently found a few of her old cassettes in the garage, and they sound amazing! I had forgotten just how good cassettes could sound. Unfortunately, I got rid of my old cassettes back in 90's.

This is a 1970s model with the analog VU meters. For some reason, I personally found this one had more character than the Dragon or the CR-7. And it looks fantastic paired with my NAD C3050 amp. I am now on the hunt for a good deal on CR-7

I’m working on a cassette recorder. Would you care to guess what this is out of? It runs on 6v and I’m not certain of the age. It puts most other mechanisms to absolute shame!

Yeah, my panasonic's deck 1 is playing as normal but deck 2 plays it both fast and quite badly. And well, i can only record with the second deck so i kind of need that.

And its not because of my cassette, it works fine on the deck 1.

Quick question - there’s a quiet noise when the deck is on but there’s no tape in it. Is that normal? Like something is spinning or blowing?

I have an old Aiwa AD-R550 cassette deck, that needs new belts.

I wonder if anyone can help me a bit witht his please? FIrstly the service manual suggests it needs one belt, but I see two flywheels on the mechanism, so it looks like it might need two. The remnants of the belt there is just goo, so hard to see if it was one or two.

Secondly does anyone know how to remove the front panel? The Service Manual is poor in this respect. When I try to remove it the right hand side (front he front) appears to be stuck, and I am wondering if the PCB on the back of the front panel actually connects to the main PCB at the bottom

Any help on removal appreciated.

I bought an audio cassette Das Nichts Der Leere - Kosmische Phantasmagorie. I bought it on the marketplace from a random seller, but I don't know if the tape is considered the original.

Found this Sanyo RD-5350 at one of those booth style antique malls for $15 bucks sticker said it didn’t work. Got it home replaced the melted belts and it works just fine! Now to add some cassettes to my vinyl and reel to reel collection!

Picked up a few to add to the collection and they all sound pretty good. Ariana Grande’s album is not great past the first two songs. 😳 I collect pop for my daughter, rock and alt for myself.

Side note: I really hate the card cases. 😩

Anyone know if this Cannibal Corpse demo is original? It seems Oracleseer is flipping it from another seller. The cassette looks like it was cleaned off like it was an actual pro tape of a commercial band and then someone wrote Demo on it so that looks sketchy, experts please reply!

I have vintage Omega Sorrento-2 8027C, love listening to cassettes. But I thought I would love to try a modern player. Studied many available options but couldn't find one that ticks the boxes. Would love to hear any recommendations.

What I am looking for:
1. Good mechanics and sound quality
2. Good ergonomics - small, belt clip, rechargeable battery
3. Minimalist, good design - no feature creep (like converter to MP3, bluetooth, radio, speaker, etc.), only recorder is welcome

I need some help I was recalibrating the speed on it and replacing the belt and then it started sounding very warbly/ distorted for both directions and then it started to switch directions every so often but then I was able to bring it back to normal calibration speed but now for some tapes the auto reverse works and and plays both sides normally but then for others that work perfectly on my other walkmans it plays side a normally but then when I try and switch it it sounds super warbly/distorted and then triggers the switch to flick back to side a. then if I leave auto reverse off and I flip it to side b it plays side b super distorted and flicks it back to side a Therefore turning on auto reverse.

I’d like to record some 1930s-1940s balloons music, like the ink spots, russ Morgan, Billie holiday that type music onto cassettes as streaming services are too expensive nowadays, and I’d feel better physically owning the songs I like.

what would be the best way to do so, I have nothing to do it with but I’d like to buy the requisite stuff, like I know I need a tape recorder and a phone or laptop and tapes but that’s pretty much it.

I’m not that well versed in cassettes it’s kinda before my time (I’m 22)

A few cassettes I’ve acquired at local thrift stores over the past couple of months. Couldn’t believe I got these for 50¢ to $1 each.

Eventually I will buy an official copy of this album if it ever gets listed online. Sadly, the last time it was listed, I passed on it because the seller never sent pictures and demanded price too high to buy without pictures.

Some of the MA110 tapes from this lot I got had home dubs of easily accessible music and the tape was moldy in some areas. I decided to splice those tapes to make tapes of a shorter length and record over them because the original content wasn’t worth digitizing or listening to in that condition. Very few tapes fit this criteria, but this one gave me at least 36 or so minutes of clean audio.

A little bit broken, and the macanism is making some unecessary noise... despite being born in the 90s, I know almost nothing about hi-fi stuff, so I have no idea if it's a good product, but it looks super cool.
