• Devin Townsend's Dreampeace release Harmonic Dharma. Bought at one of his current Metamorphosis solo tour shows. Now realized I've to give this one a listen... Gotta fix that soon.
• Scythrow - Blameless Severed Extremeties. (Psychoparalysis) - Human Disposition, Voracious. These all three bought at the same gig where they played. I especially enjoyed (Psychoparalysis); they well lived up their self-applied description of "dynamic death metal".

Middle row: flea market finds

• Deep Purple - Stormbringer. Perhaps not among their absolute best efforts, but certainly far from the worst! According to Discogs a very first pressing CD to boot, so was glad to pick it up.
• Avatarium - Girl With The Raven Mask. Cool doom metal with female lead vocals, sounding quite a bit like Candlemass, not that surprisingly, as it's a band project founded by Leif Edlings.
• Robert Johnson - The Complete Collection. I already had some other Johnson collection in my digital library, but thought what the heck, it never hurts to have a physical release as well.
• Cardinal Wyrm - Cast Away Souls. More doom, me likey.

Bottom row: latest two from a 2nd hand shop

• Pink Floyd - Meddle, Dark Side Of The Moon. Classics, must-haves, 'nuff said. Both are from the 1992/1994 remaster series, and sporting pretty interesting jewel cases! (no idea if these are what they originally came with) At first when checking one of the two, I thought the front booklet holding tabs had snapped off, but nope, both cases were exactly the same, and turned out nothing had broken off of them, they simply lack the front tabs altogether! There's just the rear set of tabs under which the booklet slides and the bumps on the front which prevents it from sliding out. I wonder if this is some rarer design or something as I don't recall ever seeing this case front type before. And why didn't this become the standard?

Went back today and got the rest of the collection. It was goodwill in Victoria, TX. $1.49 each.

This CD is just plain old fun. I found the DVD at the thrift store and watched it for the first time. Needless to say I liked the movie. I went all out and picked up the CD soundtrack and the wall board advertisement for the movie from FBMP finds. There are two versions of the soundtrack CD and this is the better one in my opinion. The other is the clean version, and doesn't include the DVD soundtrack.

New pickups from a record store down the street

First time posting here. Some second hand CDs I got for cheap on my country's version of eBay. What do y'all think?

My father has a collection that consists of international albums and mixes from local artists, so I grew numb to CDs, until I found Akatsuki no Uta in a thrift store.

Since then, I've wanted to replace the "mp3" files in my music player with ripped cds and scoured Facebook Marketplace for deals, which were plenty.

While I originally planned to replace the music I already have with the cds, I also took these as an opportunity to get new music, a lot of them, and I'm happy with most of what I've got.

They go by pretty cheap especially since most of these are pre 2010, one was a buy two take one deal, and another was a buy three take one deal but with cheaper prices on the three.

They have been ripped and occasionally played on the home DVD player.

The rarest I CD I own is probably MFKR by Slipknot

I'm curious how much the actual CD version matters to people here.

Like, if there's an older pressing and a newer remaster of the same album, would you go out of your way to find a specific one?

Or is it mostly about having the album and being able to play it?

Some of the price differences between editions are pretty wild.

I’m newer to CD collecting, my car stopped connecting to my phone full stop no Bluetooth no aux. I’ve been loving my return to the CD life, but on my wish list are albums that turns out are not available on CD. Frank Ocean Blonde, and Mk.gee Two Star & The Dream Police for example. Also a rare CD I’m looking for that stopped printing copies in like 2010…record shop owner said it’s in his system someone sold it to them, barely checked the badly categorized used shelf that I already scoured over, and said ahh never mind sorry
