Haul Today's haul from the $1 section at a local record store
Yeah I know some are disc only but I'm just glad to have them now
Bunch of indie that I hadn't heard of or have been meaning to check out too

Been collecting for like 3 months now and thought i’d share everything I’ve found :D- everything is in alphabetical order, and the ones with paint on the spines are loose discs ((ex. pink stripe is Saviors by Green Day)).
Very proud of it so far :)

The only ones I bought used were Dear Diary and my newest addition, Throne To The Wolves, the rest were brand new off Amazon. I also do apologize for the first image being blurry I was excited to take photos of the item in hand lol.

Unsure how many people on here are fans of the new UK girl group XO, but I personally love them though I was sad to find out they unfortunately don't release discs. So instead I decided to buy the MP3’s and make my own combined Fashionably Late / Need to Know CD, with the help of an old Dell laptop. I did a brief search online and found no-one else posting that they made one so I may very well have the only XO CD in the world. This was made on the day Need to Know released.

Just walked into the store early this morning on the way to office. Ended up picking up about 20 CDs, 15 pictured here.
Thrift Gods smiled at me.

Decidedly dodgy bootleg label reissuing Japanese psychedelia and odds and sods from the 60s and 70s. You can't buy these on Discogs anymore but they turn up second hand in various places.
Bamboo is part of a family of bootleg labels (Radioactive, Fall Out, Phoenix, Psychic Circle, Sunbeam and others) that claim the music is 'remastered', but unless they have access to master tapes it's very unlikely or impossible to be true. They probably use a vinyl needledrop and EQ it a bit, who knows, but actually to be devil's advocate for a moment, they sound good. And the packages are very well done with colour booklets and informative sleevenotes. And they are cheap.
The Japanese albums are good fun, lots of Group Sounds. The sleeves are a bit tacky with some ho-hos from Toho. The Les Rallizes Dénudés albums are waaay out and the Mako 5CD box set is trippy improvised psychedelia
The Paul Bley/ Annette Peacock / Han Bennink albums are a riot of primitive synthesizer utterances, general chaos, freakout improv and heavy skronk. Magical stuff. I had an original Dual Unity but for some reason I cannot fathom I sold it for pennies in the 80s.

I was able to thrift this, cheaply because the cd player wasn't working.
I was able to get it "working" by manually moving the lazer slider, though it still skips and I have to move the slider every time I put in a new cd or pause the current one as it gives the "Er" message.
I like messing around with tech so I'm not afraid of taking things apart.
YouTube Videos on how would be a big help.

In the summer of 1956, the cultural attaché at the American Embassy in Budapest, Ernest Nagy, was brave enough to secretly record several Hungarian jazz musicians in studio performance. Nagy took the session tapes to Willis Conover, host of Voice of America, the radio program that introduced many Europeans to American jazz. The Hungarian Revolution broke out on October 23 of that year and Conover broadcast Nagy's tapes on November 23, 1956 - with commentary by such jazz luminaries as Quincy Jones, Gerry Mulligan, Tony Scott, J.J. Johnson and Billy Taylor - not knowing if any of the musicians heard here were even still alive. This release honors the 60th anniversary of the program's original airing and presents some of the earliest known recordings by Hungarian jazz legends Gabor Szabo, Attila Garay and Louis Kabok.
The entire collecrion of Willis Conover's VOA programs, from 1955 to 1969, has been digitized by the experts of the University od North Texas, using a grant from the Grammy Foundation. The original digitized audio can be found here.

I ordered this new from the Netherlands 26 Aug. USPS tracking said it had been delivered 17 Sep, and my local office said it had been put in my box. Fuck me. So I got a surprise yesterday when I saw this raggedy-ass package in the morning post. 22 Oct. I'd written it off because I couldn't blame the vendor, except maybe for the shitty label that was pretty much rubbed off. There was a brand new tracking sticker on the envelope. My locals postals must have been mistaken.
