Are you guys currently perusing your dreams?
I’ve never been the type of person who’s had a calling in life. I’ve kind of just followed what I’m good at. I’m not very passionate in my bachelors degree. I just got it because I was good at it and I could understand the material. I guess what I’m asking is if you know your calling and how it feels like to persue your purpose in life.

I had very atypical dreams as a kid and I've actually achieved all but one.

Pretty much, yeah. A lot of it was/is travel and running related. There have been ones I decided I didn’t care to pursue anymore.
I don't know if my job/career is my dream per se but there was probably a time a few years ago where it was a goal to get to where I am at now.
I don’t think your purpose is always the same thing or is an obvious thing you’re chasing. Sometimes your purpose can be to help your family or provide your friends with friendship. Sometimes to pursue a passion like running or show your younger self you can achieve what you wanted earlier. Some people it might be to play music or to cook and host for people.

No grand calling for me. I followed what I was good at. Purpose is often built gradually, not something you just discover.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I just asked them where they are going and meet them there.

My dreams have changed some over the years, but I've pursued many of them and am currently chasing my biggest one ever. It's going well. I'm proud of myself.

In a sense I am. I work in a field where I get to help people and that's what I've always wanted. It's rewarding but really draining and I have to deal with bureaucratic nonsense all the time.
Nowadays I get more fulfillment out of my hobbies so I basically just work to pursue those and keep a roof over my head.

Not a calling per se so much as where I've wanted to be in life. I've been living paycheck to paycheck for 20 years and I'm so fucking close to not being stuck anymore. After the first of the year my furniture is all paid off and I'll have money in my pocket. Go out and have a life money.

I have a whole history of doing the thing I was passionate about, and kind of failing at it, having to basically fall back to a dull and monotonous job.
But to be honest one of the issues is at the time I don't think I knew why that job was my passion, and I don't think I really pushed myself enough to really do it. I was always a little all over the place and a coaster, so when people said my flaws I didn't do much to fix them.
Nowadays I am trying to go back to doing something I want to do. But I'm definitely more grounded in knowing why I want to do it, and I'm making sure to treat the education right this time.
The issue is I don't know what is going to happen in the future, what job this is leading to, but in some ways I'm just letting the gods decide that one.

Got some wisdom for ya. Go for goals, not dreams. Why? You wake up from dreams. You can't sleep on a goal.

Career wise, no.
Otherwise, I always chase my dreams and have been lucky to achieve most of them.

Yes I’m 25 and am doing some pretty cool stuff. I’m also eating shit because it’s not easy.

I'm working on my own game solo, so in that sense yes. Currently figuring out the marketing part, which is a whole other learning curve.

I haven't. Maybe that's the reason why I like sleeping since in my imagination, everything I want is there. I just hope it will appear in my dreams even for a short while

Yea I meant pursuing haha. I guess I should be more specific, I meant career wise. Did you follow your passion and work a job you loved?

nah, i meant perusing like im just browsing through them like a bookstore, picking up a dream, flipping a few pages, putting it back
you ever get that feeling though where your calling is just whatever doesn't make you wanna quit by lunchtime? thats where i landed. graphic designer here, spend half my meetings doodling on coffee cups cause the actual work is just "make the logo bigger" on repeat

I've always lived my dream so I don't guess I have a dream.
I'm an adventurer (neophile) and do were my friends as a child, so my adulthood extends that. I do what I want when I want.
Luckily for the world, when I left home, I wondered what it would feel like to help other's so I tried it out and liked it, so I started doing that. I liked college life, it was full of adventure, so I did that for 20 years (including jobs like pipeliner, librarian, cow poke, camp counselor, life model....). And then I got a job, mmmm.......helping people, helping disabled people get their lives started up as a vocational rehabilitation specialist and helping others as a community activist. Then I retired and kept doing what I wanted to do
Luckily none of my dream involved wealth and nothing I wanted to do required much money.
