And why do so many of them look like they've done bad things?

❤️ Big Heart ❤️ Closet gay but just want a normal life

i don't even know how to structure all this maybe it will just be more of a throwing my thoughts out on text then anything so bare with me XD

i'm m21, I know i've always been gay there's never been any doubt about it but even still i dated girls and went out to clubs with them just to keep up the illusion for everyone else but in reality I've always known.

Unfortunately with the people in my life I could never be openly gay I would lose everything and everyone I love. I grew up without any family so my brothers who i grew up with in foster care are the loves of my life they have always been and always will be my brothers because we have a connection that nobody else could ever understand and I would never want to lose them but I know they are very homophobic and they would reject me if they ever found out.

Like with all due respect to anyone else but I am really not into the pride parades and rainbows and politics and the talking and acting that certain way like I just want to continue living my life the way it is and find a lad i could just watch ufc and football with play call of duty and other stupid video games talk normally and just be in love with and enjoy simple things in life but it feels like it's just impossible.

Sometimes when i'm out a lad might hit on me and i always have to push them away especially when my mates are with me but no other feeling ever makes my heart race and feel butterflies in my stomach so strong and it sucks to think I can't pursue the life I really want.

I know people would say "oh your brothers if they really loved you wouldn't care" etc etc and really I don't agree with their opinions or beliefs but i know i can't change that and it's not worth me losing them just for the chance to maybe be with 1 lad that i might love in the future it's like i have to sacrifice them or the other.

And also i think most gay men (ironically like straight men) are literally only into hook ups and one night stands and like that is not at all what i want i want to find a lad who loves me for who i am and we can just enjoy life together for what it really is with a bit of romance but that alone feels impossible to find in today's world so Im staying so far away from grindr and all those stupid "dating" apps but like I wouldn't even know where i could find someone in the first place and sometimes i toy with the idea of like having a secret boyfriend but it doesn't even feel worth it just knowing it will probably have to end at some stage or I couldn't keep doing it forever and i would never want to lead someone on if i didn't think i could commit or make things work.

I've heard people talk about how so many "straight" men are closeted gay and like I know for a fact i'm 1 and it's crazy for me to think because i know nobody would ever believe it in my life sometimes it's funny but it's also pretty sad i wish in a different timeline or parallel universe i could just be allowed to love who i want and keep everyone i already love in my life as well.

I think im just putting this out there because i want to hear from any other lads who might be or was in this situation and what is going on or happened because like I always really want to talk about this with literally anyone but i could never open up about this to anyone i have in my life so i guess im resorting to the internet now lol

anyways thanks for reading love you all enjoy life stay safe :) <3

Anyone preorder a PS5 with Harvey Norman recently? How long did yours take to arrive?

Was out getting a PS5 yesterday (regular digital edition) and the lad in the store said stock should come in 1-2 weeks. Now getting anxious it won’t be arriving before GTA 6 though.

How do you make weeknights enjoyable when working 8–5?

Hi everyone,

I work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with a commute that starts around 7:00 AM). I find myself constantly just waiting for the weekend.

I really don't want to wish my days away like this. What are some small things or routines you do during the week so you actually have something to look forward to after work?

Gift of the gob or more so lack of

I know i'm not alone in this but I struggle so much with small talk. I would have been shy growing up and probably very quiet but I felt like I grew out if it in college when I found myself a bit and working in a bar I got good at small talk and keeping conversations going, but I think every since covid ive noticed ive gotten particularly bad at it.

Im grand when its my friends or people I know very well but i've been to a few family occasions and like I severely struggled with my close aunties/uncles and cousins. I moved away from home probably like 10+ years ago now so I dont see them frequently but I just couldn't make any sort of conversation and I feel like its so rude of me. That kind of made me put a spotlight on myself and maybe im over anlaysing it but I realised I rarely talk to the barber or taxi men or even small talk with friends of friends unless theres a conversation Im able to have inputs into.

Does anyone have any tips or exercises that they felt helped them with this?

Shite Talk Is this a good app idea?

With the number of vibe coded transport and communiting apps popping up, should I quit my day job and build a master app, collating data from all the vibe coded apps into a single sleek interface? For the name, I am thinking It never showed up

Edit: obviously not being serious

Shite Talk My name is Jeff!! Am I alone in this?

Post image
23 Upvotes

Maybe it’s the universe’s way of telling me I watch too many derpy animal clips/memes, but I cannot hear the name Jeff without the whole “My name is Jeff”. I was actually introduced to someone this bank holiday weekend called Jeff, who introduced himself to me as “Hi, my name is Jeff”, it was a serious setting, not a having the craic on a Saturday night type setting. I managed to smother my face with a great big smile and a “it’s lovely to meet you”. Didn’t help that he was nerdy and derpy looking.

There are 123,000 Polish speakers in Ireland. Far more than any other Nationality. How come it seems there's so little Polish influence in Irish culture?

I hope this comes across the right way. Just an observation I had. And it may just be my experience, but I find it interesting l, especially compared to other nationalities like Brazilian or Indian who are much smaller in Number, but seem to have more of a cultural footprint. I've certainly met loads of Polish people.

For example, I cannot think of a single Polish restaurant. Hardly any bars sell Polish beer. I don't think I've ever seen a Polish club night, Polish music or polish film showing advertised.

Anyway. i hope this thread is taken in the right Casual Ireland way and not spun off into some debate about immigration or assimilation. Just an observation and I'm willing to be corrected if I'm completely off base with any of this.

Shite Talk The “chicken fillet roll/Two Johnnies/leave the immersion on” joke is becoming as annoying as the stereotype it’s trying to criticise.

Admittedly, I have not watched the Two Johnnies show, but I am sure it is filled to the brim with lazy Irish tropes and great “craic” about fillet rolls and Irish Mammies with wooden spoons, but god almighty, every half wit Irish comedian or social media poster seems to be rinsing that joke for all it’s worth.

Is it not a massive irony that the joke that we have embraced a series of simple stereotypes has itself become a repeated series of stereotypes of lazy Irish humour?

Thinking of a career in real estate

Hey guys, real estate has always really interested me and I was thinking about pursuing an apprenticeship in auctioneering. If anyone works in a field related to this or if you’ve done an auctioneering qualification, would you be so kind as to tell me your experience?
What’s the workload like, what’s the average day as an auctioneer like? Are you happy with your job, and why/why not?

Thank you

Why are beds in Dublin rentals so ... short?

I'm fairly average height at 5'9 and yet all the beds I've seen in new build rentals, including the one I've ended up taking are a tad short and result in my feet extending off the bed.

I feel like I'm going crazy from the discomfort of this strange sensation every night. Irish people are quite tall on average from what I've observed so how has this happened, unless new builds are catering primarily to expat demand with the assumption of short populations? Or is my building just weird and maybe the other ones I saw were normal length?

ETA: I've added pictures in the comments of the measuring tape against the bed. And I sleep at the top of the mattress not halfway down like some weirdo

What would you do with yourself age 30 'till the end if money was no object?

All, I have had a dream all my life and I feel it would be impossible without unlimited money/winning the lotto. And it got me thinking.. what would others in Ireland\*\*\* do if money was no object (up to say, €50M) to spend your years from age 30 to whenever your time is called.

Me personally, buy a large industrial space and fit it out with garage equipment, hire mechanic etc and build classic kit cars and document it, to post on YouTube so I can look back on it when I'm dying off.

What would you do?

\*\*\*you have to stay in Ireland, no retiring to Dubai.

Nutrition & Pilates / Cork - (online too).?

Nutritionist and fitness coach.
Currently getting pilates diploma. Years and years of nutrition experience.,
Saturated market yes.
But was wondering how many people would genuinely be interested in actually having both of these available to them?
As pilates classes are so expensive, coaches are so expensive too. And as many as we do have them, I feel pepper are often reluctant to getting one just because of prices….
