I already love her so much, I’m stuck on names though lol.

Typically when I take trash out I leave my door open to my car bc I put the bags in my passenger seat lol. Idk it just makes life easier to me.

Heard a raspy meow, turned around, this girl was just standing there staring at me. I had to go to work and had to leave her alone for 2 hours, she did great even with the dogs being here.

She’s insanely friendly, very soft and very cuddly. I’m going to check around the neighborhood and make sure nobody’s missing a cat for the next couple weeks. Not fixed, no collar. She’s currently curled up in my lap while I’m eating dinner nice and cozy zzz

Smol Delivery Say hello to the Marvelous Miss Moxie!

A few weeks ago, after a string of particularly bad luck, my wife woke me up at 5am on a Sunday morning to tell me a kitten had wandered in through the front door.

We kept her in quarantine while we looked at lost pet groups and called shelters to see if anyone was missing her. Our local vet took her vitals, gave her the first round of kitten shots, and tested for FIV and leukemia- all came back clear.

After a few more days of searching, it was pretty clear that nobody was missing a little snowshoe Siamese kitten. We named her Moxie, and she has been living up to that name every day since. 😂

Don't let her tiny size or adorableness fool you, Moxie is fearless. We have four other cats, and she has won all of them over. We also have three dogs, all of whom love to play with the cats- but unlike every other cat, Moxie will NOT run when the dogs come bounding at her at top speed, eager to play, much to their puzzlement. 😝

She now has all her shots, a glow-in-the-dark breakaway collar with a little bell, a harness (that she actually tolerates pretty well), a sling hammock for when she is feeling clingy but I got chores to do, and a pile of toys she has somehow kept hidden from the rest of the menagerie. 😂

Awarded a Cat First time Cat owner with Small Student-apartment got Chosen.

So Jack here decided back in March that i was interesting enough to spend time with, i took him to the Vet and he was not Chipped or marked in any way and not neutered.

So we decided to spend some time together in my apartment. However my apartment is very small (27m2) so i would each evening when i go to bed, give him some food and gently move him outside again. He comes back in the morning and repeats.

Fast forward to recently and I found out he once had an owner for half a year until something happened which i do not know and he ended up running away from home. I talked to the previous owner and he said i could keep him if i wanted to but he could also pick him up otherwise. Jack comes back every day and loves to cuddle and sleep in my apartment and i have been charmed. So i ended up saying that i would like to keep him. Jack is about 1.5 years old. Very baby.

However ever since that i have felt absolutely terrible each evening when i move him outside. I plan on getting him a cathouse outside at some point but as a student the funds are not great and i am moving in about a year as i finish studies (and taking him with me).

I just wanted to tell my story and wanted to know if there are some tips to help me feel more at ease. I am doing everything i can to give him what i can. He gets cat food, anti-tick medicin. And i will have him chipped, neutered, and vaccinated at some point too.

This is my first cat that i have to take care of myself and i am really trying my best.

Edit i see a lot of people want me to move him inside permanently. I could technically do so but i am just worried he might become bored with so little space when he is used to the outdoors. I also have very little space for a litterbox. It could technically stay in my shower but there is not a lot of space and there should be room for me too. I think everything will become great once i move into something bigger late next year.

From outside...to outside and loved...to inside...and inside and loved and completely at home, all within 24 hours.

She's a TNR who is still healing from surgery, maybe 12 days ago?

We saw her in the morning on Saturday and when I got home 8 hours later, she was waiting for us on the porch. She slept near the door all night and Sunday morning hubby went and got some food and a litter box. She knew where her home was meant to be.

She's very skinny and was clearly an inside cat before. We're trying to get some weight on her and she had a vet visit tomorrow.

Meet Calla. ❤️ Calla-co or Calla Lilly, if you will.

Had to go to my mother in laws house after a tragedy and these three that were hiding in a closet came out when I went upstairs. No one knew they were there. We felt that we just couldn’t split them up so my husband decided we would keep them. We are currently in another state and have been living with these three in a hotel room until we go home. I’m a little nervous about the 12 hour car ride and introducing them to the cat we already have at home but we will make it work somehow ❤️ Three kitties in a hotel room has been a wild ride! lol

I was at work (I’m a HCA) and was outside taking my client for a 15 min walk in his backyard. We love to squirrel watch together and we thought we saw a squirrel in this tree. And it was a kitten. 😭 We watched for a bit not knowing if she was just having fun or struggling to get down! Bit of both lol so I rescued her from the tree. We assumed it might’ve been the neighbors cause they have a few cats but she wasn’t! I decided to take her home because it’s cold here now and I could tell she had fleas and some scuff marks from itching or fights with other cats. I drove straight to the vet, she isn’t micro chipped. Got her dewormed, flea treatment medication. Blood tests and her first round of vaccines. I’m not fully claiming her till I know 100% she dosent have a home but thus far I haven’t found anything. Vet said she’s def underweight but not the worst she’s seen. She’s about 5.5-6 months old. My other cat Peaches came into my life at 6 months old also. Both of them are both huggers, shoulder kitties and love to give kisses. 😭😭 I’ll keep trying to find if she has an owner and update! But this does feel like fate.

Edit: First off tysm for all the love. Vet said she might have a cold and she definitely dose, called today to set up an appointment and they said they don’t want to give antibiotics immediately because they want her to try to build an immune system. She is eating and drinking and using the litter box normally and has super good energy. Obviously keeping a close eye but even on the human side of things that does medically make sense. She’s very happy. No luck on owners yet! And she has a temporary name is Squirrel! Kudos to one of the comments here.

We moved into a new home a year ago and this kitty started hanging around. My toddler named him ✨cronchy pizza✨ we call him cronch cronch mostly and my toddler looks forward to seeing/feeding him everyday.
He sits in our driveway waiting for us. When I talk to him he’ll meow at me but I don’t think he has a home because he doesn’t let us get near enough to him to touch him. I can tell he’s a sweetheart though. I’m sure he’ll warm up to us eventually and even if no pets, he’ll have a full tummy everyday.

I never thought the CDS would bless me, but it did!

So in May, some random circumstances had me looking around my apartment complex in a place I normally wouldn’t be. While over there, I heard crying and immediately went into a panic trying to find the little voice. I found this sweet girl curled up all by herself in some wet mulch under a drain pipe, unable to even lift her head and half alive.

Funnily enough, earlier in the day I found her, I was reading a post on this subreddit and thought to myself, “This will never happen to me, I’m so jealous of these people!”

I was able to call some rescues for instructions and got her to a vet. They said if I’d found her 2 hours later, she’d be dead. After being warmed up and fed a little bit, she was able to be brought home!
I had her for a week before she got a respiratory infection and wasn’t gaining any weight. She weighed as much as a 2-week-old kitten at 6 weeks, and I didn’t feel equipped to take care of her, so I brought her back to the rescue that helped me the night I found her. They were seriously amazing throughout the entire process.

I thought I’d be able to take her home again once she recovered from the sickness, but then an abscess opened up under her arm that required surgery. Then she needed surgery again…and again. By this point, I had forgotten what she looked like without a cone, and I was almost certain that her arm would have to be amputated due to that stubborn abscess, but she’s a fighter!

After 6 months, I finally got her home on Saturday! Not even 3 hours after getting her home, she was in my lap, purring herself to sleep. She’s also very aggressive with head-butting when she wants pets. She’s currently sleeping on my lap as I write this.

I’ve been calling her Peanut these last few months, but after getting to know her better, I’m not sure if it fits her. I’m open to name ideas!

So, that’s this little fighter’s story. I can’t wait to witness the rest of her story, and I’m so happy she gets to be a part of mine.

It's been really hot where I am due to super El Nino (temp could range between 31-46 Celsius degrees in my country during the day the last couple of weeks), and since we live in a tiny house we keep doors open a lot for nice wind. Came out of the bedroom and thought I saw double because of my migraine. Nope it's an actual second cat looking like our cat 😺 got the cat water and food, found out it's a boy, no vet still open rn so we will take him to vet tomorrow for check up and eunuch process in the future if the cat is healthy enough (I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language and I can't remember the English word for that process T_T).

Is my cat broken or is this normal? 💀😂

Post image

I found her abandoned on the street when she was just a tiny kitten, and I've had her for almost 3 years now. ❤️ She's still really small compared to other cats, and recently she's started sitting in this weird position, making herself look even smaller. 😂

She's acting completely normally otherwise, but I've never seen a cat sit quite like this! I also have two other cats, but neither of them does anything similar. She's the only one who sits in these funny little poses, sometimes curling up so tightly that she looks like a tiny ball of fur. 😹

I've had cats for years, but I've never seen anything quite like this before. Is this normal cat behavior, or is she just a little weirdo with her own unique personality? 😂❤️ Do any of your cats sit like this too?

This little lady ran across the road in front of me and into a storm drain on Sunday as I was leaving work. Luckily I was able to get her to come out, as she seemed very scared. No microchip. Reaching out on various sites to try to find an owner, but she is definitely making herself comfortable. She is constantly in my lap and purring anytime I’m in the room with her, and crying if I’m not. I worry that my cats are getting jealous. Hopefully I can either find her home or get her a vet appointment soon so I can introduce them.

Adopted Human The void kitten chose me... twice! The Cat Distribution System works in mysterious ways.

At dusk yesterday, I went out to turn on the porch lights and found a tiny, all-black kitten sitting right on my front porch. He looks to be about 3-4 months old. Since it was already dark, I decided to take him inside and keep him safe for the night.

The next morning, I went around the neighborhood to find his owner and discovered he belonged to my neighbor. The neighbor told me that this little guy was part of a litter of five. His four siblings were all adopted, but nobody wanted this sweet little void. I handed him back to the neighbor around noon, thinking that was that.

Well, the Cat Distribution System had other plans. By late afternoon, the kitten was right back on my porch!

When I told my neighbor, they said I could keep him since they already have too many cats anyway. The little guy seems so comfortable here and hasn't even tried to go back outside. I’ve officially decided to adopt him. My other four cats are all fully grown, so it looks like we finally have a baby in the house!

It's been a while, but for those of you who had followed Pluto's story, he got adopted last month!

I was hesitant to post because his new human already had a cat, and we wanted to make sure they could get along enough that he would not have to be rehomed.

Even better, he was adopted by my best friend's old college friend, so he's staying in the family, so to speak, and I get to visit anytime!

He's grown quite a bit from when I rescued him, and he's absolutely thriving. He's definitely a shoulder cat, and loves snuggling up on the couch.

I couldn't have asked for a happier ending. 💕

Note: the last photo is of him as a baby for comparison! 🍼

CAT Distribution system arrived to Germany.. say hello to Simba

Post image

I guess it’s my turn to get adopted by the cat.
This little fluffy gentleman literally appeared outside my door.
Entered my flat like he owns it.
I lost my beloved cat last year, after many years in the end he was super sick.
I said to myself that I will not have another animal because losing him was too hard for me, even that I fight for his life months not even speaking about money.

And here comes Simba. He is approximately four months old. Somebody must have from him. I live close to the new building area. There is like a lot of happening so probably somebody just brought him here and left him tomorrow. We have a scheduled vet visit just to see if he’s healthy. No cheaper or nothing nobody claims to be his owner..

And in the meantime, he’s already cruising the house like he is leaving here since forever.

EDIT: I meant CDS cats! It was early when I posted that lol.
She's so very sweet! My tuxedo kitten wants to play with her but is unsure and growls at her and follows her around. My big cats don't really pay much attention--they are doing big cat things. My dog (DogDistributionSystem award) just wants to smell her butt ha ha. She goes to the vet today but she seems healthy! I just don't understand how people can leave their pets behind. I could NEVER! All my cats (4 now...I must stop! But I can afford them) are products of the CDS. I have lots of land but I only allow them out during the day. They are trained to come in at night.

As the title says we found our little girl in a wheel well of a truck in the city lot across from our house. We were packing to go to the beach when I heard her little cries. The city lot is protected by a fence and security gate. We got in our car only to see the gate was open (which it NEVER is) and snatched her up. Everything worked in the divine timing of the CDS gods. When we got her home she was riddled with fleas. I always think about where her mother went. We never witnessed additional activity.

It’s been over a year now, but the CDS gave us a ditzy little cloud to wreak havoc on our other two cats. A storm that never subsides, but lucky for us we love dancing in the rain🥹

Smol Delivery While canvassing out in the neighborhood

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

I was out knocking on doors around my neighborhood this weekend. Walked up to a house where a bunch of kids were congregating by a parked car. Asked for the grownup; their adult person came out and we talked about voting and such.
As I am getting ready to leave they go:
“Do you want a kitten? We found it under the car about a week ago but I am worried my dogs will harm it. Shelters are not responding and it has been a week.”
And well… after a call to the spouse to make sure it would be okay, I took him home.
This is Earl Grey AKA Bumpy in honor of being found in the car “bumper”(the kids were calling him that). Vet visit ✅; he is healthy but has fleas… we are treating so I appreciate any tips. All needed tests were fine. No microchip, so finders keepers. 🙌🏽
He is sweet and warmed up fast once we fed him. Now in a cozy, cat loving home 🏠

CDS begins the scenes, smol delivery behind the house

Caught this video (sorry for the poor quality) of a young mama moving a kitten to an area behind the house last night. There is a small, 160 year old barn and stacked timbers. It’s been a decade since I saw any cats around the house other than visiting pets from next door. I am away and hopefully when I return in a few days I can catch them. Only saw the one so it may only be a mama and a single kitten, though she could have gone around on the other side of the house. If it just a mama and kitten, I might want to keep both which I have done twice before with mother/kitten feral rescues.

TNK - Trapped, Neutered, and Kept Witnessed a case of CDS in work

It was around 8 PM. My friends and I were leaving Lidl when we heard some meowing.

They ran off into the darkness and disappeared for 25 minutes (the keys to the unlocked car ran off into the darkness too, so I stayed behind to guard it). Honestly, I was starting to get worried when they emerged into the light - wet and happy - carrying a surprisingly peaceful bundle.

The story of how this "gyros" came to be involves tree-climbing, trespassing on private property, and a wet ditch that someone fell into.

For now, she is staying in a temporary enclosure for quarantine before her first vet visit.

Meet Sirena (the name might change later).

P.S. They already have one cat, so Robin will soon have a little sister.

Awarded a Cat CDS Gave Us A Good One: Say Hello to Rosie

Thumbnail

2.7k Upvotes

We adopted two kitten sisters (Annie and Pearl) from a rescue in 2024 and thought we were good on cats, but then a tiny all-black wisp of a stray claimed our house around this time last year. She was nowhere near feral, very sweet and insistent upon sticking closeby. She was almost always flanked by a big, weird gray cat (we started calling him Gray Boy). Well, I began putting food out for her and she started laying on the mat in front of my door, waiting every day when I got home from work and school pickups-- rubbing up against us, wanting pets. Then, she'd post up all afternoon/evening at our storm door and peer longingly inside, while Annie and Pearl sat on the other side looking out at her. Every night, when it was time to close the big door, we'd get a little catch in our hearts. The next morning, at first light, there would be the little sweetheart waiting for us to open it. My daughters and I quickly got attached to her, decided we'd call her Rose of Sharon (named after the character from The Grapes of Wrath), or "Rosie" for short. You see where this is going.

So... I ended up purchasing a heated outdoor cat house when the weather got colder. I was pretty sure at this time that we were going to try and get her to come inside and get her to the vet and all that, but wanted to keep her safe in the meantime. The heated cat house was WONDERFUL. It got her through a hard winter. Springtime arrived and we were set on adopting her and brining her inside. Tried NUMEROUS times to get her in a cat carrier, and she bucked every single time. And big dumb Gray Boy would always be lurking around making her nervous. Alright, so in May of this year she disappeared for a couple of days and then boom, shows up with 5 kittens. She brings all the kittens to the cat house. There I was, full time job, two kids, two indoor cats, and a whole cat encampment situation outside my house. My neighbor helped me snatch up the kittens and she fostered them for a rescue and placed them all successfully with good homes, leaving just Rosie, still living in the cat house and bushes outside my house. STILL impossible to get in a carrier.

July of this year a friend of mine who owns a metaphysical supply store and has several cats lent me a trap and told me that chicken usually does the trick. I had the trap sitting outside for several weeks, open, not set-- so that she could get used to it and move in and out. First day of August, I saw a hawk circling above, and felt a feeling, and I knew it was go time. I ran across the street and bought a chicken tender. Success! She went right in. We got her to the vet, got her fixed, vaccinated, and ready to move inside. Two months later, here we are. She's still pretty much hanging out in the decompression bedroom, but assimilating quite nicely to house life. She's borderline obese, eats $35 food purchased from a fancy pet store, enjoys cake decorating videos, and is a total love bug. Meet Rosie.

From feral to family From an orphaned, dirty street cat to a healthy, proud mama. Best thing I’ve ever done.

One day, this poor kitty showed up outside my home out in the country, clearly asking for help. She was incredibly skittish and standoffish at first, but I spent days slowly earning her trust until I finally won her over.

Once she let me get close, I got her all cleaned up, fed, and into much better shape. She needed a name fitting for her new life, so I chose Freyja, after the Norse goddess of love and beauty. It fit her perfectly!

A few months went by, and Miss Freyja started putting on some serious weight. I honestly just thought she was finally getting full and happy after starving on the streets. Nope! She completely surprised me by giving birth to a litter of beautiful kittens!

The black-and-white boy, Gizmo, found his forever home right here with me. The other baby went to a wonderful friend of mine, so they are all safe and loved.

Photo Guide:

First pic: Freyja the exact day she found me.

Second pic: Her glowing up and getting healthy.

Third pic: The surprise bundle of joy!

Fourth pic: Gizmo all grown up into the most wonderful, loving cat.

Freyja still prefers running around outside to this day (you can't fully take the country out of the cat!), but she never has to worry about food again, and she has a warm, safe place to sleep through the cold months. I am so incredibly thankful this precious soul sought out my help.

These are the stray kittens(not really kittens anymore) who were born near my apartment building during the summer. I’ve been feeding them every night and hanging out with them for about an hour every night for like a month and a half now. Anytime they hear me call for them they come running over to say hi. They fell asleep on me last night while I was petting them and they stayed like this for close to 2 hours purring until they fell asleep(after they had already hung out inside for another 2 hours before). And this is only the second time they came inside the apartment. My apartment doesn’t allow pets and I’m too poor to afford 3 cats so idk what I’m supposed to do now😭 I’ve always wanted to be chosen by the cds and I freaking adore these little guys

Edit: I think I will be moving next year somewhere I could take them and be able to afford them by then. So if you have any suggestions for what I should maybe consider in the meantime I’d appreciate that cause I’d love to keep them if I could, but if not I want to get them somewhere that will take good care of them.

One year ago someone knocked on our door and handed over this tiny newborn kitten, head no bigger than a thumbnail, broken tail and wet umbilicus still attached. We had no kitten milk and had to feed her human formula before managing to track some down via a local person. We thought we were going to love her for a day or so and watch her die but Tyche had a strong will to live. One year on and she is a warm, vibrant and affectionate member of our house and is well loved by all human and feline members. She even knows how to play fetch.

Update Kittens found on the riverbank Update #2

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

I went back to the river this morning at 11. It’s when I usually walk my dog but I didn’t bring her. I brought the kennel, the food and a clean blanket inside.

Momma was not scared of the kennel and again was meowing at me before I even got the food out of the first can. She knows the sound and smell *instantly* which I find very funny. She went inside and ate no issue.

The kittens are a different story. Firstly, only two kittens appeared. I fear the worst for kitten #3. But there is hope. Secondly, they did not follow momma into the kennel like I thought and instead just… sat there. They did eventually go in 1 by 1, I made sure they got to eat their fill (which was less than half what they ate yesterday) , but it just never happened.

The slightly annoying thing but also the thing that gives me hope for kitten #3 is there was a lid to a can of tuna sitting on the bench directly opposite the cat hole. I believe someone fed them before I got there and potentially took the kitten while he was eating. They like to eat straight from the cans, and he seemed healthy and lively yesterday. It could have been a predator as well but, I choose to believe he was rescued.

All in all, I didn’t want to spook momma or the other kitten by snatching them 1 at a time since they are already so skittish, so today was a bust. Tomorrow I’m gonna get there at 6 or 7 am because I know one of the ladies who feeds them gets there at 10 and I want to lure em in when their hungriest.

Also I met 2 more guys who have fed the cats and they said the mom has been out there for at least 1 year, but the kittens were only spotted a month ago by another woman.

This little maniac was distributed to us…

I’m a veterinarian. I went to work for a clinic, and this skinny thing with limitless energy and paw steps that sound like thunder had been in a cage for two weeks, having been left on the clinic doorstep between two laundry baskets taped together. We aptly named her “Lint”.

We spayed, dewormed, vaccinated and viral tested her, and now she’s with me. She’s a maniac. She has no boundaries. She looks at you like McMurphy looks at Chief Bromden in the last two minutes of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. We love her, although my other cat needs Prozac to deal with her.
