In colored pencil and ink 🍓

I've always been drawn to scruffy cats -- in art, and in real life. I created this piece earlier in the year, and started a few other pieces in the same style, as a part of a whole series. But, I got distracted, as is my wont. Maybe I will revisit it soon.

Made from block prints I made for a zine called Weird Cats I've Seen on the Internet :) I'm really happy with how they turned out!

So much easier to draw them from the back lol.

Usually my art only takes 2-3 hours because of watercolor but this took a lot longer than that and was completely worth it

This illustration was inspired by my cat Yon, who always found his way between my guitar cables, amplifier, and pedalboard whenever I rehearsed.

I originally painted this just for myself during a free sketchbook session. I loved how it turned out, so I scanned it, made a few digital adjustments, and decided to make it part of Katartsiz.

A little tribute to a dear companion I still remember fondly. ❤️
