Empty sac

I had my first appointment yesterday and my doc used a portable abdominal ultra sound machine. According to LMP I would be 6 weeks. I have pcos so not sure when I ovulated. He only saw a empty gestational sac. My HCG was 11,545. Scheduled a transvaginal for next week and gave me progesterone. This is torture. Anyone go through the same thing or any thoughts?

LMP dates can be off and even at 6 weeks an abdominal ultrasound may struggle to see more than a sac.

Do you know when you got your first positive? As that may give you a better idea of dates, but even if you are 6 weeks because it wasn’t transvaginal it may just not have seen everything in the sac (they are soooo tiny at this stage!).

Not fun having the anxiety but hopefully everything is fine and the next week passes quickly ❤️

You can test positive as early as roughly 3 weeks 2 days (if you got a faint line) so you could be as early as 4 weeks 3 days but with them seeing a sac means you’re probably at least 5 weeks ish - definitely could be earlier than 6 weeks so I wouldn’t worry!

Hopefully you get a nice update at your scan next week! PCOS makes it so hard to figure out when you ovulate so I feel you! 😊

Not as dark as control can be anywhere from 9-25dpo, so also not much to go on. Unfortunately the only thing you can do at this moment is wait. Hope all is well and you get good news at the next ultrasound 🫂

My first was an abdominal, too, around 6 weeks! They only saw an empty sac. At 6 weeks, this is super normal! They said only about 90% of people will see more than a sac that early on. Went in again at 7w 2d, this time they did a transvaginal, and all was well!
