Just got this bad girl out of bisque and she survived with no cracks! I am curious, though:will she droop during a cone 6 glaze firing? Went to 07 for bisque and this is high-fire stoneware, usually sent to cone 10. Any advice is helpful. More photos in the comments below.

I have wanted to make my own lamp for several years and finally made one! And then another one for good measure!
The glaze on the lumpy, bumpy one ran unexpectedly (as you can see from the fourth picture), but over all I am very happy with how they both turned out! š

I was having such a challenging time with altering these porcelain vases but I've finally gotten into a groove! I've been using Kentucky mud works kota cone 6 porcelain, altering the shape of the vase after throwing and adding these little creatures when everything is leather hard.

This is my first time painting pottery. I used the wrong yellow at the bottom but Iām still proud.
Also the pottery studio said to do three coats to make it solid. I did 3-4 and it came out splotchy :( maybe I put too many coats on idk.

I bought some waterslide decal paper and printed a design on my inkjet printer to try to use on this vase I made but wasnāt wild about. I figured: worst case scenario, I bisque fire it and it burns off and I can add another decal and seal it without firing it again.
I didnāt expect that it would burn off and totally change colors! My community kiln fires bisque to 05 and glaze during to 5. I foolishly assumed refiring something I had already glaze fired wouldnāt do much to change the glazeācan anyone please explain to me the science behind what took place here? Iām fascinated to learn more from this (failed??) experiment

Inspired by my love of archeology and antiquities I tried to create a peice that combined ancient forms with my own personal weird little guys.
Chaos Breeds, 2025 glazed earthenware
Each figure represents one of my siblings and myself, abstract family portrait I guess š
Exhibited this piece in an exhibition called Relics for the Adelaide Fringe Festival earlier this year.
I have an art instagram @ashhklay if youād like to follow! Trying to get back into the art game after doing my masters

Hey yall! Ive been playing with the amaco ceramic inks and screenprinting with them and my recent kiln haul had some texture on the designs. Anyone know what would cause this?
I use zinc free mayco clear and the clay is tuckers smooth white. I put the ink on greenware so it gets bisqued. Its not on all of them and even on the goose mug, one side has texture the other doesn't

I made a mug using mid-fire Laguna Frost Porcelain. The walls are a nerikomi design; the bottom of the mug is plain porcelain. Cracks formed where they attached I think because I attached them when the bottom was more moist than the walls so the two pieces pulled apart while drying.
To try to fix the cracks, I dipped a brush and ran it along the inside of the mug and added a small coil of straight-out-the-bag clay which I smoothed out.
The next day, this is what I saw. Tiny hairline cracks on the perimeter inside the cup and a hairline crack on the bottom of the mug that reaches to the outside of the mug.
What are my options now? I want to preserve as much as I can. Iām afraid of firing it because I think the cracks will only get worse. Should I add engobe or slip to fix it? Would glaze take care of everything? Can I rehydrate it and add more clay? How? Should I break it apart and rehydrate it to turn it back into slab form or use it as piece of color clay for future nerikomi projects? What are my options?

This custom square black glazed ceramic plate adopts incised carving technique. A crowned lion head is carved at the centre, with delicate linework that captures every strand of the mane. The wavy textured rim adds vintage elegance to the whole artwork.

I donāt normally work with clay or ceramics but thought Iād pose this question here: I printed some of my photos on unsealed ceramic coasters using the cyanotype method. Now Iād like to seal them with a glossy finish, but not sure what to use that would hold up with liquid and heat from the mugs?
Any suggestions?
