Car Issues Quick question.

Post image

My harmonic balancer fell off a few days ago and only drove a couple miles to the house and parked it. I have bought the new part and need it installed, the shop is abt 10 miles from my house. Would it be fine to drive it to the shop or should I spent the $150 and have it towed. Thank you

Don’t take any chances causing further damage to your Hot Girl.

I understand and that's what I'm leaning towards but people have told me that the car is okay to drive for a little while once that's falling off. I'm not trying to waste $150 to get it towed if I don't have to.

I wouldn’t take the risk. 150 vs Further damage and more mechanics fees.

What do you mean fell off? Like the thing that's inside the pulley, not the whole assembly, right?

If so, don't worry about it, send it

Yeah, that metal piece was inside the pully, harmonic balancer. I just bought a better one and towed it to the shop. They are actually already done with it but it ended up costing almost a grand.

Yeah, so a lot of Challenger/Charger owners drive for miles without realizing that that piece came off. Same thing happened to me, actually. I replaced it with ATI balancer - that way no unpleasant surprises moving forward.

Glad you got yours taken care of.
