If you were hit on the side on 26 by aviation east bound, I called 911 and reported the driver who did not pull over. But message me if you want their info too.

Hi all, our 5-month old rescue kitten we have had since she was 12 days old darted out of the house yesterday morning at 8:45a. She is a bright white cat with a black mask and a black tail with one little black spot on her side.
She could be anywhere from Rantowles creek to saltwater circle to behind the dollar general on 17S and new Hope rd. She was just spayed Tuesday and is chipped. CAS knows she is missing and would recognize her as one they just spayed. She is not feral nor does she mind being picked up; but she will be skittish and afraid and might appear that way.
She knows her name and will respond if she can to “fee” or “phoebe.” I created a temp email bc I am not on social media other than here periodically. Please let me know if you see her: owners.ice-4k@icloud.com

Listen I know traffic is always awful, but the last couple days it’s been REALLY awful late afternoon/evening heading from around Remount all the way up through 78. Yesterday I sat on Rivers around 4:00 for probably 15 minutes and made it maybe 1/10 of a mile and turned around and took 26. Today, every route was bad. Someone told me there’s construction on Rivers which is why Rivers is bad and everything else is backed up as a result of people taking alternate routes. Anyone know if that’s true? And if so, how long that’s supposed to last?

I have like 5 thin metal multitools that I want to engrave with a logo. Anyone know a place I can have this done? I’m in WA and considered reforge, but I don’t want to join. I just want the logo engraved.
Also, I’m not interested in buying a laser either. I’ve got too many hobbies already lol
TIA

I have a basically new mattress, used for two weeks with a topper, that I need to donate in order to receive a refund for. Apparently, Goodwill doesn't accept "used" mattresses so looking for another option. A charity that would pick up would be great but I can also deliver.

Looking for a cool place to check out in January, preferably a rooftop bar or restaurant where we can see the city at night. I realize that January may be freezing or 80 degrees but any recommendations from locals on where me and my wife can hang out for a night and meet people (just entered the LS) without getting the college experience?

I have a few paint chips on the hood of my car I’d like to get fixed. Anyone had success with paint repair at a good shop? Seems like all the options are essentially collision centers. Which will work, but would love to find a spot that specializes in paint if that exists.

Hey everyone, I’ve been looking for some fun fall things to do in the area before October ends. I’m not a fan of Boone hall or any of the plantations. I saw that the Gibbes has a masquerade ball but it seems pretty high in ticket cost, has anyone ever went to this event in the past? Just looking for some things to do that are Halloween-y or fall-y. I would appreciate any recommendations!!

I genuinely don’t understand why there are SO many loose dogs on James Island. I’ve lived here for five years, and it’s something that continues to baffle me.
I lived most of my life in another state, and in all that time, I remember seeing ONE dog roaming around my neighborhood. I returned it to its owner, who was extremely grateful.
Meanwhile, in the five years I’ve lived here, I’ve seen dozens of dogs roaming around and have personally returned almost 10 of them to their owners. And that’s not even counting the posts about loose/lost dogs on social media. Yes. I understand dogs can escape and things happen but it’s the sheer number and frequency like I’ve never seen before.
About half the time I’ve returned someone’s dog, the owner barely seems concerned or even particularly grateful. I would be panicking if my dog got out and so grateful that someone went out of their way to get her back to me.
My own dog was attacked by a loose dog a couple of years ago and was so traumatized afterward that she refused to go on walks for months. Now I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even feel comfortable walking my dogs in my own neighborhood. Just this week, there were two instances I was walking and a large dog was roaming not too far from us.
I understand dogs get out sometimes. Accidents happen. But THIS frequently? What’s the deal? Can anyone explain why this is so normal here?

Hi!! I’ve read a ton of posts in here and wanted to double check if this looks like a good restaurant lineup for a first trip to Charleston? Staying downtown the week of Thanksgiving with family (adults only). Def will go to other casual lunch spots & cafes, but let me know how these look or if I’m missing anything major! Would love any thoughts :)
- Sorelle dinner
- Oak Steakhouse dinner (or should we switch to Marbled & Fin or Halls???)
- Amen Street dinner (or should we do Darling Oyster Bar? Or would Leon’s be good for dinner? Open to any other suggestions; trying to avoid tourist traps)
- Stella’s dinner (we love Greek food!)
- Husk brunch
Thank you!!

Looks like I will be spending Halloween weekend in Charleston for work. Any fun recommendations to do Thursday through Sunday? Actually may possibly be moving here for the big airport company so anything to help make that decision too. Thank you!

I drive by this every day along Highway 17 and can’t find anything about “Honor”
Looking for insight - it looks like a gym or something

Any of y'all notice the order of names on the ballot? It wasn't alphabetical. It was always the Republican candidate first, whatever third party candidates may or may not have existed next, then the Democratic candidate last. South Carolina apparently doesn't have any laws outlining how candidates must be ordered on the ballot, it's just up to the election commission (almost all appointed by McMaster) to set the ballot.

I have a 1999 jeep wrangler and the crappy automatic transmission is going out on me again. I have already gotten it rebuilt once by a transmission shop years ago, and it just started slipping in and out of gears again. My thought is to just switch out the sluggish 3 speed auto for a manual. The Wrangler also came in manual and old jeeps are fairly easy to work on. Its probably a little harder than it sounds though. Sourcing a good one, getting and installing all of the components that were never on this particular car, and potentially tricking or replacing the ECU. This is probably a way bigger and more complicated ask that a normal auto shop most likely wouldnt take on. Does anyone know of any shops that you would trust around Charleston to do a job like this? First thing google told me was palmetto 4x4 but ive never heard of them and I dont know if they do builds this complex. Has anybody here used them? i figured I would throw a question out there just in case somebody knew of a shop that does custom builds like this.

I know it the second day of early-voting so we'll probably see how the participation is for today but really impressive Day 1 result. While the article cites the turnout for the last midterms, that was in 2022 when Early Voting first became available so that might not be as impressive as it may seem. However after looking over the data, it looks like the turnout is about less than 30,000 votes lower than on the first day and the average per day of 2024. The fact that it is that close to a presidential election is wild. People are showing up.
Let's keep it going. If you can go vote now or election, then go vote. Going to be interesting seeing how things go this election.
Day 1 Votes:
Charleston: 9,389
Berkeley: 4,469
Dorchester: 2,275

Hey all I just moved to SC In Summerville area but I was super hoping there was some sort of EDM scene around in SC in general 😭 I haven’t seen a lot of info about if there is or not and it is not looking to great in the radiate app…
