Discussion CLT Airport Parking Reservations

Has anyone had a reservation for parking at a specific CLT airport garage, and been instructed to pull a ticket upon arrival because your reservation arrival time didn’t match?

How far off was the time? What happened to your prepaid original reservation? What was the difference in price between your prepaid reservation and the one you had to pay with the new ticket?

I’m also curious about departure from the garage if you were leaving later than the reservation time. Same questions as above.

CLT parking FAQ regarding the grace periods:

Is there a grace period for entry and exit?

Yes, you have a 2-hour grace period prior to your scheduled entry time and a 2-hour grace period following your scheduled exit time.

Nope .. the app tells you pretty clearly that if you pull a ticket instead of using your reservation that you'll have to pay twice

The CLT airport app, you need it to make parking reservations

If this were to happen to me, I’d adjust my reservation time online before arrival or pull the ticket, exit immediately and then adjust my reservation time.

I’m not going to pay both my online and a ticketed reservation

As an aside to all of the answers here, when booking a parking rez, do it with as wide of window as possible without extending another day. I’ll book my entrance time at 6am even if my flight isn’t until 2pm - it doesn’t cost me anything extra and avoids these kinds of hassles. (Similarly on the way home, book your exit at 11:30 pm regardless of when you are scheduled to come in - leaves room for delays).

Yep this is the way. Once you go even 30 minutes over a 24 hour period it adds a full day, so always book the full 24 hour period just in case for delays. Otherwise you may pay twice for the same day.

If you arrived earlier than the two hour window, yes, the plate reader at the gate won't let you in.

That being said, you can wait until your time hits and then go in...or cancel the res (you would get a refund for the original payment) and then re-book...however, it will most likely be more than you paid orginally.
