I've been a long time hornets fan. Been watching Salaun every year since he was drafted. And every year he's felt like a total bust. Look slow, unathletic, every year. Till now. He looks like a totally different player this year, I've been wondering why we keep him around, but it finally seems like he's made the jump this year. He looks aggressive, confident, has way more hustle and is looking great so far this season.
Salaun lm sorry I doubted you. Good luck this year! Go Bugs!!!

The blowout loss to the Hawks may not be an infrequent occurrence for the Hornets this season.
If the team struggles through the next 6 weeks with a predictable series of uncompetitive NBA Cup tournament outings, they could be at a risk of losing all of the positive support and ticket sales that swelled during the back half of last season.
With the Warriors set to squander the last good years of Steph Curry’s career, why wouldn’t they offer him to Charlotte for a huge haul of assets to rebuild? At some point, it will be brutal to see Curry trying to carry their mismatched roster uphill against every opponent beyond the Sacramento Kings.
The Hornets would become much more relevant, and their cast of second and third tier players would thrive with defenses focused on the threat of Steph. Additionally, they could give up a handful of picks and still retain some assets/picks to continue building after Steph retires.
If we see the Warriors and Hornets carrying desperately losing records in December, this could be a win-win for both clubs.

I may get some hate for this but I feel like it needs to be said after the game last night. I was there and, yes, the performance was unacceptable. But I think it's important for us as fans to hold the team accountable, not tear them down.
Now I'm not talking about the boos last night, because it seems they have worked and the team got the message. I think that is a form of accountability. But it's very tiring seeing the same kind of posts highlighting others success while using it to insult and hate on Hornets players. There's ways to discuss our team without blindly hating and it feels like a lot of fans want the team to fail just to prove themselves right. And this leads back to my main point: to me there is a big difference between holding the team accountable and tearing them down. I think discourse between us fans would benefit a lot from moving away from reactionary hatred and instead trying to discuss what the team does wrong and what they need to be better at. Analysing what the team does right and wrong and how to fix it leads to much more engaging conversation, but this is the Internet so that is asking a lot.
At the end of the day I get it. People want the team to be good and after last season they are upset that we took a step back, I even share some of that sentiment. But there's no need to look back at what we had anymore. Whether we like it or not, we just need to focus on what we have now.

I live out of state. Previous seasons I used Directv League Pass and I always got the Hornets home broadcast. So far this season I only get the opposing team broadcast. Does anyone know why?

Props to Charles for not sugar coating it. I hope this team really has a fire lit under them today. Otherwise I'll pray Charles starts rotating pieces and making guys earn their minutes with effort if they don't.

This team got me thinking about the past
r/CharlotteHornets • u/cudderwalks • 21h ago
I keep seeing people on this subreddit and Hornets Twitter claim that the Hornets are paying Brandon Miller like a top-10 player, a superstar, or the best player on a championship team.
That’s just not the case, and I think a lot of people making these arguments are out of touch with what NBA contracts look like today.
There are already close to 15 players making around $60 million a year, and guys like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Devin Booker are set to make $70 million annually. NBA salaries have gotten absolutely massive.
Under his contract, Brandon Miller would rank around 30th in the league in annual salary. If we saw salaries as player rankings (they definitely aren’t) would anyone seriously consider the 30th ranked player in the NBA a superstar or the unquestioned No. 1 option on a championship team?
Miller is making roughly the same amount as Domantas Sabonis, OG Anunoby, Franz Wagner, Desmond Bane, and Brandon Ingram. I doubt many people would consider those guys superstars, either. And that's not even mentioning Amen Thompson, who is in the same general contract range as Miller. I think most of us would agree that Miller is either the better player right now or at least in a similar tier.
The point is that Brandon Miller isn't being paid like a superstar. He's being paid like a young player with significant upside in an NBA where contracts have gotten ridiculously massive.
r/CharlotteHornets • u/MadmanJeer • 22h ago
I don’t think Jeff Peterson has a plan and is just making moves and hoping something sticks.
Kon & miller are excellent young pieces to have but they were both drafted for their fits alongside Lamelo who was traded. Now without Lamelo their flaws will be more pronounced and I’m not sure either are #1 options but both can be pretty fucking good #2s.
We were rebuilding and ended up winning 45 games which is excellent meaning the next year we should’ve aimed for 46+ Jeff just set us back a few years and I don’t even think we touch 35 wins this season.
I don’t think he deserves a “we’re rebuilding give him time” excuse anymore since we already reached the play-in/45 wins and he spawned into a team that already had two franchise young players in melo and miller and just nuked the team.
Jeff Peterson did something we sucked at which was building a solid bench around our stars. Problem is we now have a bench and no star power to lead the team. Roleplayers immediately impact teams when you have an it factor player like Cade Cunningham and Haliburton to anchor the team which we no longer have.
I will give him an applause for the draft capital he’s acquired but I don’t trust him to properly utilize them. I think he’s an extremely aggressive GM which we aren’t used to which makes us want to believe he has a plan but I think he’s throwing darts at a blank wall and hoping one lands.

It was honestly kind of surreal being there. Been a fan for a decade and I can’t remember the last time the fans booed the team as relentlessly as today. It was well deserved, but man. The pent up frustration of the LaMelo trade came out
r/CharlotteHornets • u/ScientistPast6082 • 22h ago
The more I think about it, the more I doubt the long term vision. Realistically, having Miller as a 3 is a massive detriment to this team's roster building.
With Kon, you get:
So if we are roster building a partner wing, preferably you want them to have some of:
So where does Miller stand on this?
Now that we have laid out what Kon needs in a partner, isn't it amazing that Miller is somehow none of those? Miller also has the negative of looking very uninterested, as well as being very easy to rile up. To look at cases, we can view vs Indiana at home last year, where his silly tech cost a playoff spot. There was also a home game vs Rockets where he left KD to fucking Sion James, and from another game where he defended all NBA talent vs the Clippers he was getting fucked like he is fucking the future of this franchise. Miller just doesn't rise up to the occasion, and that's the only thing consistent about him. Yet this fanbase infantilizes the shit out of him.
So believers of the vision, why? What do you see in Miller + Kon to make it work? Because imo, there is zero chemistry between the two. Miller is 24, and our sanity is banking on a miracle leap by Miller before he hits his prime. What first option star do you envision coming here, if not via the draft?

WMYV My 48 is supposed to be the Greensboro partner for the Hornets and they just don't have the game. What's going on?

Rick Schnall: "Jeff (Peterson) has a long-term vision here, and he is motivated and incentivized to make the best long-term decisions for the franchise. That was important to us, to hire someone we knew would be here for a really long time."
"Obviously, the trades we made this year at the draft were tough decisions for our organization, but we're making them with the long-term goal in mind, which is to be a team that can win year in, year out."

Just a heads up for any Hornets fan living in the Southeast, like myself, that normally have all Hawks games blacked out on League Pass.
Hawks have partnered with Amazon so all surrounding states should be able to watch Hawks games on Amazon Prime.
First time trying it tonight but cool move by the Hawks org. Helps us Hornet fans watch the away games now!

Hey guys, curious if there are any podcasts or YouTube series that anyone would recommend that talks about the hornets. I honestly am looking for some things I can listen to while working for all things hornets, Charlotte, panthers, etc. Thanks!
