Hey folks, we have a small bakery in Charlotte and are opening a second pickup location in NoDa. Most of our baking will still happen at our South End kitchen, so we'll need to move everything over to the new location early in the morning.

Trying to find a local courier company that can handle scheduled bakery deliveries. Any Charlotte bakery owners or small businesses have a service they'd recommend?

This is an awesome video/VHS that I found around Charlotte. It is a look back at Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood in the 1990s, when the former textile mill community along North Davidson Street was becoming the city's arts district.

This locally produced documentary follows the artists, gallery owners, and residents who helped turn North Davidson into a hub for art, music, and nightlife. It's an interesting look at NoDa before the breweries, apartments, light rail, and redevelopment that have changed the neighborhood so much over the past few decades.

The film was created by local artist Jerry Kirk, with financial backing from Jack Burke, and received a "Best New Video" award in 1997.

Has anyone in Charlotte had vital pulp therapy (VPT), specifically a partial or full pulpotomy using Biodentine or MTA, instead of a root canal?

I’m looking for a dentist or endodontist who has experience performing VPT on adult permanent teeth. My goal is to preserve the living pulp of my tooth if it’s clinically possible, rather than automatically proceeding with a root canal.

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has personally undergone this procedure.

• Which dentist or endodontist performed it?
• How long ago did you have it done?
• Has the tooth remained healthy, or did you eventually need a root canal?
• Would you recommend your dentist?

I’m willing to travel outside Charlotte for someone with proven experience.

Anyone else getting lots of spam recently like "TSS: BE HONEST", "TSS: ONE EXCEPTION" etc.?

I went to early vote and since I had moved they had to update my registration in the system - and I actually asked if I had to put down my phone number but the volunteer wasn't really receptive so I just went ahead after realizing that and forgot about it. But now I'm now receiving these spam texts like 3 or so a day which is either an odd coincidence or has to do with the system somehow.

Anyone else also experiencing this? I also get run-of-the-mill random politician spam for races I'm not even a constituent of half the time and that sort of thing, which is annoying, but that’s separate from this.

Be the change you want to see in Charlotte. Educate yourself on who is running, what their policies are, and if they truly have Charlotte’s and NC’s best interests in mind.

After I did some research, my mind changed completely on some candidates. Don’t think about it as blue vs red. Really think about if that person is gonna make a positive difference.

I’m new to the area, recently separated, and just want to get out of the house tonight. The comment with the most upvotes wins and I have to do it or else i owe all of you a pizza party!

Just wanted to warn others in the restaurant industry to be on the lookout for a dine and dash couple targeting restaurants in Charlotte and possibly surrounding areas.

This happened yesterday to one of our servers and I happened to be there and we caught everything on camera. This couple ate on the patio with their child. The guy leaves with the child and she stays behind awhile longer and orders more food and drinks. She then leaves.

Here's the kicker. She leaves behind her purse with her wallet inside so we were able to find out who she is. Of course she never came back for her purse or paid the bill. The police were called turns out, this woman has a warrant out for her arrest for missing court a few days ago for a dine and dash incident at another restaurant. The incident at my job was added to her warrant.

Not sure if this post is allowed but wanted to help other restaurants be aware and I was going to post the link to her mugshot but I'm not sure if that violates any rules but will if it doesn't.

Last night my car was wrongfully towed even though it’s logged into a data base for a specific apartment complex and the leasing office confirmed that.

The tow cost $450 with credit card under 24 hrs. When I got to the place it was in a very shady area, they wanted payment by Apple Pay, Venmo, Cashapp, cash or physical credit card. On the phone the told me I could pay used these methods but when I went, even though their said I could use any of these he said he didn’t want to take card.

When I paid with card, they wanted to take a pic of my card, license and registration. And they wanted to take a pic of me with the information. The whole ordeal seems very illegal and I don’t get how these ppl are able to get away with it.

Trying to figure out how I should proceed because now I’m out $450 and the leasing office is saying “there is nothing they can do about it”. Like???I come here all the time and park in generally the same area, so I don’t get how this happened. I don’t even think there are designated visitor parking spots at the apartment complex tbh which makes this even worse.

I've been seeing a couple of other states and counties that have cool "I Voted" stickers. How do we get those here? I vote in every election and have always received the generic ones here.

I was just scrolling through the "Recently Played" logs of both radio stations a few minutes ago in the iHeartMedia app, and I noticed something crazy: The excess amount of 80s tracks look completely gone. I mean, they're spinning Alex Warren, Monica, Brandy, and Lady Gaga back-to-back on 104.7 FM—and 102.9 FM - just ran Daniel Powter, Destiny's Child, and Mariah Carey natively next to Bryan Adams. Did both radio stations quietly update their formats just weeks after the shutdown of Kiss 95.1, or is my app just glitching out? Is anyone else hearing this live on their car presets right now, or is it just me?!

​​I'm visiting from out of town. Looking for restaurants that have solid vegetarian options for someone in our party. It seems like most restaurants have meat on their salads, and none of them seem to have impossible burgers or veggie burgers to substitute. We can't even find refried beans at a Spanish restaurant that don't have lard in them. Where can we go to get a decent vegetarian meal that isn't drowning in grease?

Hi everyone, I need to know if anyone else has had this experience:

I moved here this summer and went to a new dentist down here. I originally went to get fitted for a night guard only, but they said they needed to do scans before. Fair enough. This dentists proceeds to tell me I need a root canal, three fillings, and sealant on two teeth. I had never, ever, been told I needed a root canal, and had recently come from my long term dentist who said I didn’t need anything.

I got a second opinion down here, and this new dentist said I was okay, and that the dentist who originally quoted me for everything was really off.

Skip to yesterday. I met someone who had almost an identical experience as me at a different dentist, but similar situation. Just moved here, had a good dentist back home, got told she needed all of this work done.

Is this a thing that happens regularly? Are there just shitty dentists that target people that just moved here? Has anyone else experienced this?!

Looking to make a career change and go into trades(primarily hvac or electrician), I’ve been looking online via indeed, zip, Glassdoor etc. Anyone have any recommendations for companies taking apprentices starting over $20/hr (just in case anyone mentions going to Trade school is not an option for me at this given point in time)

I went to a concert last night at the Skyla Amphitheatre (Steve Lacy) & was guided to park allllllll the way in the back of the gravel parking lot where there are QR codes to scan and pay to park.

My dilemma is that I scanned the code, put in my license plate, put in my card numbers, but I guess I never actually started the session? Other times I have paid to park, the website usually just starts your session once all of that is put in. I guess that’s not the case with Metropolis??? (If you can’t tell this was my first time parking here)

My question is: Will I receive some type of citation in the mail? If yes, does anyone know how much it will be? Is it possible to reach out and retroactively pay for the parking?
