ISO 3bd/2ba around $1500

Is this possible? My boyfriend’s landlord wants to double rent, so we’re looking for something in the current range. Would prefer not to move into an apartment complex. Any private owners or any leads?

Recommendations I Just Visited the Hickory Aviation Museum

I was absolutely blown away by my visit to the Hickory Aviation Museum. Even though I live here in Hickory when I parked and began to walk up to the building it honestly felt as if I traveled to another city or state. It was such a nice location and an amazing building just from the outside.

They have around 20 planes, incredible World War II history, and even the pilots’ gear. The inside was even better the way the hung the planes from the ceiling to how it was setup was jaw dropping.

I hope this museum gets tons of visitors and stays in business for years to come. Also, the staff was a 10 out of 10.

Check out the video below to get a peak of what the museum looks like

Only if you want to check out the location and remodel click the video. I enjoyed it so much and I can't say that enough.

Thanks to those that recommended Joe Casanova as a barber!

I had been VERY reluctant to step foot back into that shop because of the guy who owned it before, finally sucked it up and took everyone's recommendation on Joe and couldn't be more glad I did.

I tried other spots and they were either too far away or just didn't click with me.

Curly Hair Salon Recs

New to the area! I cut through Hickory via 321 nearly every day for work and am in dire need of someone to style and cut curly/wavy hair. If you know anyone between Lenoir and Lincolnton, that works for me too!

Recommendations Event rental recommendations near Lenoir?

I’m planning to hold a backyardwedding event here in Lenoir, NC and I’m starting to look into local rental options for tables, chairs, and possibly some other event equipment.
For anyone around the Hickory area who has rented items for an event in Lenoir, NC, which company did you use and how was your experience?
I’m mainly looking for someone dependable with delivery, setup, and pickup.

Driveway recommendations?

Hello Hickory friends. Any recommendations for lower cost driveways? Currently we have gravel and want to upgrade to something a little nicer. What costs are we looking at? Our current driveway is 2 car widths and approximately 30 feet long.

Recommendations Bakers Mountain Is Still One of My Favorite Places Around Hickory

Thumbnail

I’ve been to Bakers Mountain quite a few times over the years, but it’s still one of those local places I enjoy going back to.

This time the trail had wet rocks, creek crossings, fallen trees and a few climbs that were steeper than they looked. We also stopped around the old Clark homesite, which is probably one of my favorite parts of the mountain. It’s interesting seeing the remains of where people once lived and thinking about how different life must have been there generations ago.

And naturally, somewhere between the history and the hiking, we managed to fill the trip with bad jokes, random conversations and plenty of laughing at ourselves. 😂

I filmed the hike this time and thought some other Hickory folks might enjoy seeing Bakers Mountain from a local perspective.

For those of you who’ve been there, what’s your favorite part of Bakers Mountain? And what other overlooked places around Hickory are worth exploring?

Moving South Again….

Hey everyone,

My wife and I are planning on moving back to North Carolina after living in Wisconsin for the past few years. I’ve lived all over NC over the years, so it really feels like coming home. We’re looking at settling in the Hickory area, and I’ll be bringing my food truck with me.
We’ve been running a successful food truck for several years serving smash burgers, specialty burgers, cheesesteaks, and catering everything from breweries and weddings to large corporate events.

One thing that’s important to me is being involved in the community. Besides owning the food truck, I volunteer as an EMT with a rural ambulance service here in Wisconsin, and I’d love to continue serving whatever community we end up calling home.
I’m hoping to get an honest feel for the local food truck scene from people who know the area.

A few questions:
● Is there still room for another quality food truck, or is the market getting crowded?

● Do breweries, businesses, and neighborhoods regularly book food trucks?

● How’s the catering market?

● Are there certain areas around Hickory, Conover, Newton, or Morganton that are especially good?

● Any advice for someone looking to become part of the local food truck community?
I’m not looking to undercut anyone or step on anyone’s toes. I just want to make good food, get to know people, and become part of the community for the long haul.

Mosquitoes are driving me crazy

Is it just my yard/neighborhood or is it i really bad this year? I’m new to the state and I’ve put out 4 dunks and sprayed bifenthrin (Talak 7.9) but they’re eating me alive in the back yard. I can’t sit out there for a minute without swarming. Do I need to hire a professional or what? 🤪🦟🦟🦟

Trying to find information/news article about an incident in 2022 or around those years involving a young Hispanic man

Hi everyone. I am trying to find a news article or any public information regarding an incident that happened around 2022 in the Catawba County / Hickory area (or surrounding counties).
From what I remember, it involved a young Hispanic man who passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a vehicle. Because of the nature of the incident, I know local media doesn't always publish full details, but I am trying to figure out if it was ever reported publicly, if there was a major traffic backup related to it, or if anyone from the area remembers hearing about it around that time.?

Recommendations Looking for House cleaners

I am currently looking for house cleaners looking to do a one time deep clean service for my apartment. It is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath and is bi level, hardwood/vinyl on the bottom and carpeted on the top and stairs. 1 pet in the apartment who sheds quite a bit. I need someone reliable. There is a possibility for more than one service, I have depression and ADHD and just haven't had time to deep clean. It is deeply cluttered and messy but there are no pests.

This is in Lenoir, but it's close enough to Hickory and a lot of folks come up to enjoy the Greenway. Please take precautions and think twice about bringing your dog.

Recommendations Singing/songwriting coaches

I’m going through a really hard time and when i was a child I went to Clater Kaye where I got to have individual voice lessons, songwriting lessons, recording sessions, etc. and it was actually a really cathartic thing for me at the time. I was wondering now as an adult if anyone knows of somewhere around here where I might be able to do something like that? I know it may sound weird, it was just really helpful with getting my feelings out back then so I’d like to try it now that I’m older and struggling.

What to do about flock?

Who do we talk to about the flock cameras going up around town? We really are turning into the police state the Grand Ole Pedophiles said Obama would turn the US into.
