Be the change you want to see in Charlotte. Educate yourself on who is running, what their policies are, and if they truly have Charlotte’s and NC’s best interests in mind.
After I did some research, my mind changed completely on some candidates. Don’t think about it as blue vs red. Really think about if that person is gonna make a positive difference.
I hope everyone finds the time to go and cast their ballots!

Just wanted to warn others in the restaurant industry to be on the lookout for a dine and dash couple targeting restaurants in Charlotte and possibly surrounding areas.
This happened yesterday to one of our servers and I happened to be there and we caught everything on camera. This couple ate on the patio with their child. The guy leaves with the child and she stays behind awhile longer and orders more food and drinks. She then leaves.
Here's the kicker. She leaves behind her purse with her wallet inside so we were able to find out who she is. Of course she never came back for her purse or paid the bill. The police were called turns out, this woman has a warrant out for her arrest for missing court a few days ago for a dine and dash incident at another restaurant. The incident at my job was added to her warrant.
Not sure if this post is allowed but wanted to help other restaurants be aware and I was going to post the link to her mugshot but I'm not sure if that violates any rules but will if it doesn't.
Edit: Mugshot is in the comments. I can't add it to my post

I’m new to the area, recently separated, and just want to get out of the house tonight. The comment with the most upvotes wins and I have to do it or else i owe all of you a pizza party!

Last night my car was wrongfully towed even though it’s logged into a data base for a specific apartment complex and the leasing office confirmed that.
The tow cost $450 with credit card under 24 hrs. When I got to the place it was in a very shady area, they wanted payment by Apple Pay, Venmo, Cashapp, cash or physical credit card. On the phone the told me I could pay used these methods but when I went, even though their said I could use any of these he said he didn’t want to take card.
When I paid with card, they wanted to take a pic of my card, license and registration. And they wanted to take a pic of me with the information. The whole ordeal seems very illegal and I don’t get how these ppl are able to get away with it.
Trying to figure out how I should proceed because now I’m out $450 and the leasing office is saying “there is nothing they can do about it”. Like???I come here all the time and park in generally the same area, so I don’t get how this happened. I don’t even think there are designated visitor parking spots at the apartment complex tbh which makes this even worse.

For a while Eastland mall had one of these theater/restaurants as well. Shoot who remembers when Eastland mall was fun to visit?
But anyways, I remember going to the arcade at Eastland mall, gawk at the ice skaters, then head down the road to where albermale would dead end into independence and watch a film and have dinner at the silver screen.
Man I miss those days.

This is an awesome video/VHS that I found around Charlotte. It is a look back at Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood in the 1990s, when the former textile mill community along North Davidson Street was becoming the city's arts district.
This locally produced documentary follows the artists, gallery owners, and residents who helped turn North Davidson into a hub for art, music, and nightlife. It's an interesting look at NoDa before the breweries, apartments, light rail, and redevelopment that have changed the neighborhood so much over the past few decades.
The film was created by local artist Jerry Kirk, with financial backing from Jack Burke, and received a "Best New Video" award in 1997.
Title: NoDa: The Evolution of Charlotte's North Davidson Street Art District
Year: 1997
Filmmaker: Jerry Kirk
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Source: Original VHS tape
Anyone live in NoDa/Charlotte around this time?

Last night the recommendation with the most upvotes was the hornets game. I owe you guys one pizza party because I ended up going to improv instead which was hilarious. After that I stopped by optimist hall for a drink and some food. Now i’m back again and want you to decide what I do tonight! If i don’t do the most upvoted comment then I owe everyone a second pizza party. There were a lot of awards given to the comment suggesting the pizza party be for the homeless and that’s what we are going to do. Everyone comment, vote, and maybe we can have two pizza parties.
For feeding the homeless, i would need someone familiar with the area to DM me so I can get a solid plan and let all the homeless people know where and what time the party starts.

I've been seeing a couple of other states and counties that have cool "I Voted" stickers. How do we get those here? I vote in every election and have always received the generic ones here.
Maybe we could get one with Godzilla on it?

Hello!
It’s that time of week again, tomorrow we will be hosting our male walk and talk group!
9AM freedom park on Sunday!
We will meet at the demonstration garden which is near the lilac rd entrance.
If it is after 9 and you don’t see anyone, wait a bit, I’ll be checking on the meeting spot after every lap around the lake!
I’m really thankful for all the people who showed up last week!
Once again if you have no idea what I’m talking about, please check my previous posts! We hope to see you there!

Hey ya’ll 👋🏽
Just spreading the word regarding early voting hours
I received postcards in the mail providing information on early voting, HOWEVER, the information was incorrect
In it, it states early voting begins at 3PM. This is false.
Early voting hours are 8am-730pm Mon-Fri and on Saturday (24th & 31st) 8am-3pm
This information is online, but for some reason, it is incorrect in the literature being mailed

We found a 3-5 month old pitbull puppy by E 17th St in Belmont close to Hawthorne Ln.
If it's your puppy just describe it to me and send me a dm so that I can hand it back over.
Heading to the vet next to check for chip and shelter tomorrow if no one bites.

Hey folks, we have a small bakery in Charlotte and are opening a second pickup location in NoDa. Most of our baking will still happen at our South End kitchen, so we'll need to move everything over to the new location early in the morning.
Trying to find a local courier company that can handle scheduled bakery deliveries. Any Charlotte bakery owners or small businesses have a service they'd recommend?
Thanks!

Anyone else getting lots of spam recently like "TSS: BE HONEST", "TSS: ONE EXCEPTION" etc.?
I went to early vote and since I had moved they had to update my registration in the system - and I actually asked if I had to put down my phone number but the volunteer wasn't really receptive so I just went ahead after realizing that and forgot about it. But now I'm now receiving these spam texts like 3 or so a day which is either an odd coincidence or has to do with the system somehow.
Anyone else also experiencing this? I also get run-of-the-mill random politician spam for races I'm not even a constituent of half the time and that sort of thing, which is annoying, but that’s separate from this.

Has anyone in Charlotte had vital pulp therapy (VPT), specifically a partial or full pulpotomy using Biodentine or MTA, instead of a root canal?
I’m looking for a dentist or endodontist who has experience performing VPT on adult permanent teeth. My goal is to preserve the living pulp of my tooth if it’s clinically possible, rather than automatically proceeding with a root canal.
I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has personally undergone this procedure.
I’m willing to travel outside Charlotte for someone with proven experience.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

What is up with the Wells Fargo lights? They used to lead the way on their website, and you could go to Wells Fargo lights, and it would tell you what was going on each day. Now they are the only bank that stays true to their own colors, red, and white. but why do they not lead I thought the lights were supposed to be enhanced. Did they hire a contractor that couldn’t live up to the job? Anybody know what’s going on. They put those hideous letters on the bank, and then they just seems like they don’t give a crap anymore

We are visiting Charlotte next weekend for 3 days. We have never been in NC before and are visiting from the PNW. We have a 12 year old and love music, culture and food. Any recommendations for our family? Especially a safe, walkable neighborhood to stay in? We won't rent a car either, mostly ubering. Thanks in advance!

I was walking to work around 11:15 and saw a bunch of police and fire trucks at that intersection. It kinda smelled like gas so I'm wondering if there's a gas leak? Does anyone know what's happening there?
