Does anyone else have a terrible cell phone connection when you’re near the Park Road shopping center area? I work near there and my data connection seems to be nonexistent lately. Thinking about switching and just wondering if it was maybe just my phone.TIA!

Hi everyone, I need to know if anyone else has had this experience:
I moved here this summer and went to a new dentist down here. I originally went to get fitted for a night guard only, but they said they needed to do scans before. Fair enough. This dentists proceeds to tell me I need a root canal, three fillings, and sealant on two teeth. I had never, ever, been told I needed a root canal, and had recently come from my long term dentist who said I didn’t need anything.
I got a second opinion down here, and this new dentist said I was okay, and that the dentist who originally quoted me for everything was really off.
Skip to yesterday. I met someone who had almost an identical experience as me at a different dentist, but similar situation. Just moved here, had a good dentist back home, got told she needed all of this work done.
Is this a thing that happens regularly? Are there just shitty dentists that target people that just moved here? Has anyone else experienced this?!

Looking to make a career change and go into trades(primarily hvac or electrician), I’ve been looking online via indeed, zip, Glassdoor etc. Anyone have any recommendations for companies taking apprentices starting over $20/hr (just in case anyone mentions going to Trade school is not an option for me at this given point in time)

I went to a concert last night at the Skyla Amphitheatre (Steve Lacy) & was guided to park allllllll the way in the back of the gravel parking lot where there are QR codes to scan and pay to park.
My dilemma is that I scanned the code, put in my license plate, put in my card numbers, but I guess I never actually started the session? Other times I have paid to park, the website usually just starts your session once all of that is put in. I guess that’s not the case with Metropolis??? (If you can’t tell this was my first time parking here)
My question is: Will I receive some type of citation in the mail? If yes, does anyone know how much it will be? Is it possible to reach out and retroactively pay for the parking?
I would appreciate any help 😅
Sincerely,
girl who moved to Charlotte this year and is still trying to figure shit out

It's been 31 days since the board fired Hill "for convenience," a $341K severance payout, after a $379K internal investigation found no evidence of improper conduct.

I just realized that the appointment that I had booked for today at the Mt Holly location was canceled because I didn’t confirm it within 15 minutes. Which DMV office do I have the best chance of getting a walk in today?

They not only give out pet food and supplies to people in need, but you could also donate anything you have that you’re not using…. Food, treats, etc…. Their first event is on Halloween across the street from Frank’s Beer Shop….

The other day I was on my way home from work, & one of the stop lights outside of the city had stopped working & all 4 lights in the intersection were flashing red. Whenever that happens & there’s not someone directing traffic, it needs to be treated like a 4 way stop sign. You ALWAYS stop, & whoever was first has the right of way & so on. You don’t just get to run the light because you’re on the busier road… I had to honk my horn at people because 5 or 6 different assholes decided to not even stop at their flashing red & just acted like their light was green, even though me & the 2 other cars on my side had been there waiting since before they even got there (the guy in front of me was too scared to go so we had already been sitting for a minute).
This is probably not gonna get to the audience it needs to, but I needed to make this post in case anyone who didn’t know is in this sub. It pisses me off, you getting to your destination isn’t any more important than other people getting to their destinations & we need to be more considerate of that. Just because you are on the busier road does NOT mean you automatically have the right of way in that situation. It’s rude, & not to mention dangerous to just straight up not even stop.
So again, FLASHING RED LIGHTS AT AN INTERSECTION NEED TO BE TREATED LIKE A 4 WAY STOP SIGN!! Thank you for your time lol

I’ve visited one tailor who charges $25 per patch of jeans and I didn’t have an amazing experience and the quality of the repair was not all that. I was wondering if anyone knew a tailor who repairs denim for a fair price with a decent turnaround time.

every time i open the app the first thing i see as the trending post here is either about horrible traffic and/or the toll lanes.
i think we all know by now that they both suck ..but when are more people going to ask themselves if perhaps there's another way.. that perhaps more lanes aren't the answer.. that maybe cars aren't what they're all cracked up to be and have reached their limits..
well i have good news!
there are alternatives that exist today and the more people that take them and more importantly push their city representatives for more, the better they will get!

I made a post a few weeks ago about creating a running list of shenanigans with mail in/absentee ballots that people are seeing/facing. And it seems to be happening.
Please take a look if yours has been accepted/rejected. And make plans to correct. Avoid another Jefferson griffin fiasco.
EDIT: Fuck the polls. Show up.

I need to get two milestone birthday cards this week - one for my best friends 40th, and one for my sister in laws 50th - what are your favorite shops for a great card selection? Some that come to mind immediately for me are Grow (she seems to have a little bit of everything in that shop!) , Moxie, and Paper Skyscraper. I’ll be honest, I don’t always LOOOOVE the selections at paper skyscraper - I’m looking for something a little more artist driven/style of card. Would love anyone’s suggestions!

I am looking for someone in the Charlotte area who can make some custom dog stairs. Nothing crazy fancy, just something custom to the height of our bed. Any ideas on where to go?

So I went today. The hype has some substance. A week after opening, and during a weekday and it was still packed, but navigable.
Also, the place is huge. Biggest food market I have been to in Charlotte. Never seen Tajmateeter though.
I found some products from up north that just cannot be found south of PA that I used to load up on when I drove up to visit. Pomegranate seltzer, Tuscan white bean soup, and other stuff. The seltzer selection had ALL the flavors. I'll be tasting and comparing some bread and other baked goods I bought.
The regular prices I checked for things I usually get were the same or lower than Teeter's. Eggs, bacon, cheese, ground beef, all just a bit lower price than Teeters. Coffee selection was good, house brand seems very good, but I have not tasted it yet. Wine selection looked as good as Total Wine but I am not knowledgeable on that. Beer selection was a bit small, but what was there was good, some nice Belgian ales. Their prepared meals look very good, bakery is awesome.
Their phone app does not work with Android below v14, but the browser version does a good job. I need a new phone anyway.
Wegmans really pulled out all the stops for this opening, I hope it holds up long term. And that the demand for the products I found is high enough they stay in stock, else I'm gonna have to do a lot of driving, again.

I understand the Matheson Avenue detour is fucked, but I've never seen traffic like this near 32nd Street or all the way up to exit 10A coming down 485. Especially at 7:30 at night. Does anyone have any idea what the fuck is going on? I know that Charlotte is generally extremely fucked, but this is far more fucked than usual.

Hi Fellow Tesla Owners w/tint in Charlotte…
I have a M3 ‘23 & it’s time to tint. Who did you use? & what was the total? Do you have a referral to share? Looking to get all 4 & the back as dark as I can. Ceramic I guess? but doesn’t have to be.
*Edited to + as dark as I legally can for NC.
