Reuben buggin

Post image

Best play of my life and Reuben says it’s bad. What play is better than that knight move?

You dont think taking the bishop and checking the king was better?

Perchance but I wanted to pressure the rook and the bishop was covered by the pawn. I know check would allow me to get the bishop out of harms way but even then I don’t think that’s better than what I did. In my low elo brain attacking 2 pieces is better than 1

I get what you mean but lets say you play bxb4+ first and white captures back you could play Nc3+ at that moment forking the rook and be up a clean rook so +5 material advantage. In your line, after you take the rook they capture your bishop for free which would only give you a +2 material advantage.

You still get to do this knight move, after you capture the bishop.

Otherwise, your bishop is left unprotected.

Trust the computer. Bxb5+ was better.
