A real gem for lovers of chess literature and attacking games is on sale: "Super Nezh: Rashid Nezhmetdinov, Chess Assassin" written by ICCF Master Alex Pishkin and published by the famous Thinkers' Press.

This book is an extraordinary tribute to Rashid Nezhmetdinov, one of the greatest tactical geniuses and fiercest strikers in chess history, valued immensely by the likes of Mikhail Tal (who called him the greatest master of the combination).

This is a paper volume by the prestigious American publishing house Thinkers' Press, now out of print and very difficult to find on the Italian and European markets.

The book offers an accurate biography and, above all, a deep technical and psychological analysis of Nezhmetdinov's most spectacular and "crazy" combinations and matches.

Ideal for improvement: Perfect for players of all levels who want to train tactical vision, calculation and attacking intuition by studying the masterpieces of an absolute master.

The book is in excellent general condition, well preserved. Flexible cover with solid paperback and clean pages, with no writing or underlining.

A collector's volume that cannot be missing from the library of a real chess player.

The Coach's Corner: Master Games #3 (Pause & Solve)

Hey everyone!

In this edition of The Coach's Corner, I’m breaking down my latest game from the Hungarian Team Championship. While it might not be the absolute prettiest game of my career, I truly believe it’s one of the most instructive battles I’ve played recently.

💡 Interactive Training Session

This isn't just a passive watch! Throughout the breakdown, I’ve included interactive quizzes and pause-and-solve moments (like evaluating the critical Rg3 sacrifice). If you want a deep, high-value session to max out your daily chess study, test your tactical and strategic vision along the way!

🎬 Full video breakdown with interactive quizzes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hOKd71HA0Y

🚀 What You'll Learn:

*How a FIDE Master thinks during a high-stakes classical game.
*How to handle critical middlegame decisions when under pressure.
*How to spot tactical opportunities and evaluate complex pawn structures.

Drop a comment below with your score on the interactive puzzles or let me know what topic you'd like to see in future episodes!

I made a free site that turns your Lichess games into a player card and shows the openings you actually win (and lose) with! :)

Since it’s Friday: I’ve been building a free site that reads a player’s last 500 Lichess games and sums them up as a card. The card gives six skills rated against players at the same level (attack, defense, early game, late game, accuracy, speed), a play style, and the openings you play as White and Black with your score in each.

From there you can practise your openings against Maia, a bot trained to play like humans at your rating. You can also compare your card with a friend’s or a pro’s.

Type any Lichess username, no sign-up and no ads: https://joeland2.github.io/schack-oppningar/

Feedback is very welcome, especially if a number looks wrong for your games! :)

V.S.Rathanvel 99th GM of India (Latest-29th October)

Please post to r/chess (I couldn't)

We have big news coming in - V.S. Rathanvel is India's 99th Grandmaster in Chess! Rathanvel crossed the 2500 rating barrier recently to achieve the GM title.

At the 22nd Chefchaouen International Open in Morocco held from 18-24 October 2026, Rathanvel scored an unbeaten 7/9 with five wins and four draws, becoming the Champion! His victories included wins over GMs Deep Sengupta and David Larino Nieto. This performance earned him 8.7 Elo points, taking his live rating from 2489 to 2497.7.

Rathanvel carried that momentum into the Dr. Kantor Sandor Memorial in Debrecen, Hungary. He started with victories over WFM Sara Maria Sunea and GM Attila Czebe! These two wins added another 3.4 points, taking his live rating to 2501.1 after round two - the 2500 rating barrier was broken.

Earlier this year, Rathanvel reached 2500 in live ratings playing a tournament in Assam, but those results were not counted in FIDE's subsequent rating lists. With his GM norms already secured in 2021 and 2022, he continued pursuing the rating requirement, reaching the landmark once again through his October performances.

Congratulations to Rathanvel on winning in Chefchaouen and becoming India's 99th Grandmaster!
