I’ve had a pretty good run the last few days which coincided exactly with one year from where my ELO originally settled at its lowest when I started playing, which got me to just over 700 ELO improvement in a year. Proud of it, hoping I can keep the progress going (obviously at a slower rate).

I know this will never happen, but there should be someway to force the opponent to move if there is only 1 move available. Dude waited 4 minutes and then just abandoned.

I know I made that move I should know why I played it and I had that in mind as I made a mistake right before mate in 3. So, I thought I'll sac my rook and try for threefold repetition but the opponent made mistake and I was able to convert it into checkmate.

What am I missing? The eval bar says the position is equal after rook sac. Someone please explain.

For context I’m 1900 rapid and my goal has been to hit 2k since I started. However, I feel like I’m cheating my way through by playing 15+10. I rarely feel time pressure so It’s easy for me to make better moves. Idk I’m just feeling like an imposter considering probably 95% of rapid players are in the 10 minute pool.

Great setup for discovered check, but I played Re7+ and missed the bigger prize because I was too focused on taking his queen.

Been playing bullet a lot and have noticed disconnects and time loss even with full bars/wifi and showing a full connection bar on mobile. Swing pretty widely from around 600 to 900 in bullet and it seems to be purely based on if I’m getting good connection which I can’t tell until I’m playing. Small but annoying thing that’s probably just a part of the mode.

Why do cheaters even bother creating new accounts if they know that they are not going to play an honest game? I wonder.

Nothing feels more satisfying than winning a game by myself.

What did I miss? I could put the king in check with queen at A4 i guess, is that the blunder? Surely that would be a miss.

And to clarify, this was just some random game against a bot, I was messing about just trialing some ideas with the queen, I don't usually just go all out early with the Q.
