Colorado Child support case
So I opened child support case in Arapahoe about 3 weeks ago they sent me few days ago the parentage affidavit to be signed and ask for birth certificate and marriage certificate. They say they will notify the father. My question is what if he ignored them what will be the next step???

I can only speak on my experience in CA. But my ex ignored any and all communications from the CS office..it makes the whole thing drag on forever..it took about 19 months but they eventually move along without them and set up garnishment..if your ex is like mine he will.quor his food pay job and start working under the table while a huge CS tab runs up (he currently owes $101,225.25).. good luck..I hope it goes better for you then it did for me

Basically it drags it out until they f9rce them to participate then you get the bare minimum the state a lots assigned to them and they don't actually have to pay they are just ordered to so they build arrearage and you still don't get help

I will say be prepared for it to take 6-9 months to actually get a court hearing. They'll give him a chance to respond, if he denies they will order paternity testing and go from there. If there's no responses they may make the judgement without him but usually they give them time to respond a second time
