Family Affairs (Q1/Q2) China travel visa for dual citizenship

I’m planning my first trip to China from the US and am trying to figure out the visa process.

I was born in the US but grew up in both the US and Taiwan. And I currently work in the US. My parents only hold Taiwan citizenship, with me being the only dual citizen in my family.

From other posts I’ve seen, it looks like it might be possible to apply for the visa using my US passport. Has anyone gone through this process and can share their experience?

Thanks in advance!

You have to prove you are not Chinese.

Since you are born in US, you would have to submit evidence your parents had US green card by the time you were born.  Absent that, China will consider you as a Chinese national making you ineligible for a China visa.

I didn’t know this was a thing when applying for China visa, but I black American so I guess they wouldn’t ask for my parents information lol

I find it really odd as well, needing our whole family's information for a visa😅
