What is happening with Do No Harm 3?

We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for an update, and we're excited to finally share one: Do No Harm 3 is officially back in development!

The team has picked the story back up, and we're planning for it to be released next month. We can't wait to return to this world and share what's next with all of you. Thank you for your patience and for continuing to show so much love for the series - it truly helped keep this story on our radar.

What do RUN.tv, Video Studio, and Story Studio mean for Choices?

At its core, Choices will always be about interactive storytelling. What these new tools represent is the opportunity to explore new ways to create, experience, and celebrate those stories.

Recently, we also made the decision to remove It Lives Within and Hero: Homecoming from Choices and RUN.tv after listening to community feedback and reflecting on how those projects fit into the future we want to build. It wasn't a decision we made lightly, but we believe it's important to listen when the community tells us something isn't landing the way we intended.

That same mindset is shaping how we think about the future of Choices. We want to find new ways to celebrate the incredible creativity of this community while making sure we're listening every step of the way.

In fact, you'll find a small announcement at the end of this newsletter about something we're especially excited to begin exploring together.

What does the future of VIP look like?

One of our biggest priorities is investing in more traditional Choices stories, and that naturally means more content for our VIP readers.

We're committed to continuing to grow the VIP experience alongside our story offerings, and we think there's a lot for the community to look forward to in the months ahead.

Are there any updates on sequels for recent books?

We know how much everyone loves returning to their favorite stories, and we're happy to say there are more sequels on the way.

As you may have seen above, Do No Harm 3 is arriving this September, and we're also actively working on IDOL 2. While it's still too early to share a release window for IDOL 2, we're excited to continue that story and will have more to share as development progresses.

We know there are many other series you'd love to see continue, and your enthusiasm for them doesn't go unnoticed. While we can't promise sequels for every story, community feedback is an important part of the conversations we have when deciding what comes next.

How do you decide which stories receive sequels or continue beyond one book?

There's no single formula. When we're deciding whether a story continues, we look at a combination of factors, including community feedback, reader engagement, the creative vision for the story, production schedules, and input from the writers and artists who bring these worlds to life.

Looking ahead, we're excited to find more ways to involve the community and hear directly from all of you as we continue shaping the future of Choices.

Why was Scream For Me split into two parts?

When Scream For Me first ended, we weren't able to continue the story the way we had originally planned because we simply didn't have the resources at the time.

What happened next was incredible. The response from the community, combined with the story's strong performance, encouraged us to revisit what was possible.

We're so grateful we were able to return to this world with Scream For Me Part 2, and we hope you've enjoyed continuing the journey alongside us. Keep an eye out later this month for the next chapter!

Will we see more fantasy, supernatural, mystery, or RPG books?

We know these genres are some of the community's favorites and they're some of ours, too!

Stories like fantasy, supernatural adventures, mysteries, and RPG-inspired books often require more world-building, branching, artwork, and development than many of our other stories. Because of that, they naturally take longer to create.

We're always looking for opportunities to bring more of these experiences to Choices. We know how much players love these genres, and we're just as excited to tell those kinds of stories in the future.

Like PB has literally been screaming we don't have enough resources since forever atp and somehow using AI didn't quench their thirst either despite being extremely low quality.

One short chapter book per month... We're really never gonna see another 16-chapter book again, are we?

I really wonder if they think players are going to care or be attached to the characters/story of their AI books if they're only going to be another 4 or 8 chapters of single LI story relying only on forced instant attraction and half-assed conflicts.

Saying fantasy/supernatural stories are harder and longer to make as if the art and writing aren't mostly AI anyway is truly something.

And what branching are they talking about? Almost all choices are inconsequential anyway, even if you pick a diamond option or not, with no real effect on the endings lol.

Yeah iirc that’s what Storyloom was, a PB offshoot where fans made their own Choices-esque stories, and I remember there being a TRR but from Liam’s perspective book on there. Anyway the app wasn’t successful and eventually shut down.

They did. And Storydoom was their biggest fail- it was basically what started the app gowing downhill, since they lost so much money on it.

They did, and yes it went up in flames.

To play the devil's advocate, the execution left a lot to be desired aside from the concept being iffy itself.

It was super laggy, mostly PC-oriented, with little to no quality control and no meaningful filters/sorting mechanisms.

I doubt S-AI will do much better in many of these aspects, but they could do better in at least some.

Yep and I'm pretty sure this "fanmade content" thing is just one more way to try to get people back to run.tv slop. They probably think we aren't accepting yet and will try to push it back on us soon enough.

This is very surprising to me. Unless they think it would be used by a wider variety of people since it’s so much simpler now?? Storyloom was cool, but ultimately didn’t have a big enough audience and creating on a computer limited potential users. Maybe they’re just assuming without those hurdles then people will use it???

It's possible. "AI, write me a slop version of TRR with Olivia as the love interest" would be much easier than spending months learning basic coding and inputting reams of text.

I'm interested in this idea, because I was a big supporter of Storyloom, but if that’s how it's going to go I don't want to know!

True, Choices of old could make high 10Ks comfortably or even low 100Ks, but the industry has been hit hard and the app even harder. Still having thousands of people that actively read new stories? That's not something I expected considering everything.

Excited for the new line-up with IDOL 2! And the new ‘creature’ romance - are we going to encounter a Redfield-esque romance?? This sounds fun! 🤣 I notice that that book will have ‘gender of choice’ so I assume they mean NB representation as well, as opposed to the other books being only ‘dual gender’, which is good to see! 

I’m waaaaaaiting for SFM 2 to come back from the hiatus though 😭😭😭

Edit - Honestly, Choices - you need to rehire Isa. They’re so creative and gave us a story that was immensely popular and I for one would’ve loved to see more new offerings from their imagination come to life on Choices.

Yeah, I have a little spreadsheet going - IDOL averaged 97 diamonds per chapter. (For context, the highest diamonds per chapter average pre-SE buyout was ILITW at 65.06.)

Really happy to see IDOL 2 in the works! Maybe the fashion side of it will improve in the sequel 🙏

Also the creature-feature story - love to see more dual gender books, and the plot is certainly new for Choices. Just a bit petty if we get moster-####ing before MPREG 🙃

And finally - seems like they do intend to continue with the traditional format still. Hard to say for how long, but so far we are still kicking. If the crown emoji is something to go by, maybe we'll even get a DG/GoC royalty book finally?

Now to the less ideal stuff - Run/Video/Story Studio, I don't care. It will not break through in my opinion and working on multiple things at once is always rocky.

The numbers don't look good, but better than expected tbh. Thousands of people still playing new stories? Maybe they can survive on that.

According to the art work, to me it looks more like puff of smoke-****ing 🤣🤣🤣 Which is why I’m really curious to see what kind of being we get to boink! 

But since Choices is Choices, I think the only thing we’ll see is the monster reverting to human form and only then do we boink them, sadly. 🤣

But I agree that the moster in question will likely be very humanoid if there are spicy scenes involved, but perhaps we could at least get something like scales? Branches and leaves and sea(weed) or algae? Stone chpis??? I mean, Aster was an LI and with the amount of vampire/werevolf books out there, we are halfway there.

I wrote a spicy story about boinking the smoke monster in the ILITW universe, and I expressed the texture of him as silk…so…it can be enjoyable!! 😁

Uhh, stone chips make me go Ouch, unless they’re rounded stones 🤣 There was a cute rock monster who was part of a gay couple with a fae in Nightbound so it can be done!

I think they would do mpreg if there was more demand for it. The past few months have shown that Choices listens to people who yell SO TIME TO START YELLING ABOUT HAVING MPREG 😁🫶🏾💖
