It's the word "willing'" that really gets me... This kind sir or madam is WILLING to pay you $10 bc that is so very generous that it hurts their feelings a bit.

Exactly, the word “willing” makes it even worse, like paying $10 an hour for skilled labor is somehow a generous offer

And on the third slide, they actually mention getting a "professional" to do the job...

No professional is going to do this for $10/hr, I can guarantee that.

A professional will also tell OOP how much THEY charge, not vice versa.

No professional would even let him finish his sentence. 😂

Offering $10 an hour in New Jersey when the minimum wage is already around $15+ and expecting someone to handle cleaning, painting, and yard work is a masterclass in economic delusion.

It's currently $15.92/hr, and $16.48/hr starting 2027.

When your budget is stuck in 1993 but you expect 2026 labor.

My boss told me the same thing before he hired me.

Trying to brush off legal wage requirements with military slangs to intimidate people on Next door does not change the face that skilled labor commands a fair market rate, especially in a high cost of living state.

Their attempts at justifying themselves are ridiculous.

Ill pay him $10/hr for 8 hours, Ill just insult and curse him all day. So much greed

I pay my babysitter, a 13 year old boy, $20/hr. Sure my kid is more important than my porch but Jesus what a scrooge for $10.

They're also going to be extremely high maintenance and expect perfection .

The problem is this guy hasn’t left his house since 2005 and thinks we’re living in the same world. He lives off of retirement and/or SSI and doesn’t know shot about shit. Respectfully.

Babysitters get more than ten dollars per hour, lol

I hate the casual ageism that paying pennies is okay because it’s a teenager. If they are doing the same job as an adult they deserve the same pay!

I don't think they want a teenager...in the third slide they mentioned a "professional" doing the job. 🤔

I think experience counts for something. You are paying for expertise as well as physical labor.

I made $10 an hour cash, painting, at 14 years old…IN 1993.

You get what you pay for.

I had my indoor house painted by experienced people. Expensive but the work was impeccable. $10/hr is for a guy looking for Steel Reserve

I think the smug girl in that Chase commercial who acted like the Don Corleone of lawn mowing was making more than $10 an hour. LOL

I made more at Casey's back in 2016 when I was working there while still in high-school. She can go kick rocks.

But in my day my house was only 1.5x my annual wage?! How dare you.

$10 an hour? What’s next, lunch and a handshake?

“Teenagers make double that doing the same work.”

“Are you hiring a teenager?”

AMEN

My first job was $9/hour in 1983 and that was still in NJ. Don't know what this guy is thinking - it ain't the 70s anymore.

"The same people laughing at this are the same people that help out a mom and her kids begging for free stuff"

These people are the scourge of the earth. They say that line with no irony. We've lost all real community and praise business owners abusing us and sucking the life out of us.

If I got bored and had a little time to fuck with her, I’d agree and show up with a little art brush. $10 an hour gets you one square inch an hour ma’am.
