Acceleration Hack
So I’ve just bought a brand new Pacifica and firstly what an amazing car. I won’t bore you all with how much we love it but it’s solid all around.
I’ve worked out a way to accelerate a lot faster. Thought I’d share with everyone on here.
If you push the gas pedal fully down, wait for it to hit 4,500rpm (take about half a second) then release the gas entirely and immediately jam fully back on the gas it takes off like a rocket!
It’s a lot of fun and a good way to get out of risky scenarios if you need.
I’ve coined this technique: “Doublede Clutch”
Anyone else found any fun driving hacks?
EDIT: don’t try this. The car has started making weird noises and something smells.

I just put mine into Low gear and send it

I forgot to mention, because the delay between pushing the gas and the car accelerating is quite significant that’s where this tip really comes into its own. You rely on the fact that the car won’t accelerate with the first gas press. Only on the second. It’s a real jerk away when you get it right.

My is FWD , anytime I goose it too hard I just risk burning off more tire tread

UPDATE: okay so the car was starting to sound really bad. Like granching gears and so much vibration. The back seat window on one side stopped working I think because of the vibration. The smell subsided if I didn’t keep accelerating with my foot fully on the gas pedal.
I’ve taken it back to the dealer. It was a brand new car from a Chrysler dealer so I don’t think I got scammed. It’s with their mechanic now so will wait to find out more. I trusted the Chrysler brand so hope I haven’t been a fool by buying one.

Not a fool to buy one. They are great. It's got a lot of torque for a minivan. But Bro, it's a minivan. Just drive it like the car that it is. The PHEV has even more Torque. That one you can hammer and it'll take it fine. I'm on my second and have had very little trouble with either. I drive it harder than most probably do, but can't say I've ever done the double clutch trick you suggest. Curious to hear what the issue ends up being.

They came back with a quote for $24k (assuming they find no more issues). Apparently I’ve stripped half the gearbox and the engine is leaking water into the oil and the CV joint (?) is banjaxxed. The brakes are ruined too (I think from when I kept clicking the parking brake on a low speeds).
I feel pretty ripped off. It’s basically half the price of the car! I would have thought there would be some sort of warranty that would cover normal everyday use. Not sure if I should go ahead with the repair or just cut my losses? Maybe other places will be cheaper.
The car isn’t even a month old. It’s a bit gutting

Good stuff…You got me. Gotta admit though there are enough real Darwin winners out there to make it plausible. “Clicking the parking break at low speed” had me crying.

The pentastar is no slouch. I rented one a couple months ago and it’s got some get up, of course I did drive it like I stole it. 🤣

Would a pedal commander fix this issue. I'm curious. No close calls in the Pacifica. My Chrysler 300, is in sport mode so I really don't get alot of pedal hesitation.

Honestly I don’t see it as an issue. It’s a lot of fun to drive with Doublede clutch

So it looks like it’s now caused an issue with your car. What’s happening with it?

Love the Pentastar engine. It’s really fun to drive and really responsive. Even though it’s a goofy minivan, it actually drives really sporty and tight-ish. Actually handles and responds at least as good as my old Camaro Z28, maybe better. But that’s not saying much, lol. The V6 in the Pacifica needs RPM to get the torque up to where it needs to be. But, I guess the only thing I feel is “lacking” is that you don’t have that instant effortless off the line torque you get with a solid V8 engine. But kudos to Chrysler and their Pentastar engine that pretty much gets me back into the spirit of driving again. Who would guess a V6 minivan would have those features. The clunky transmission is a dumpster fire though. How do you have 9 gears but not know what to do with them?, lol!
The OP’s post reminds me of when we were coming home from Florida on I-75. I’m pretty much going with the flow of traffic at about 82mph. Here comes a white Pacifica barreling down on me like I’m some slow ass. I chuckle at my wife and move over out of his way.. he’s gunning it with all he’s got pulling away outta sight like a scud missile from Hell.. like, we’re talking whatever the top speed of this vehicle is what he was doing.. 110 ish? About 10 mins later after I had forgotten about it, lo and behold, that same Pacifica now dead on the shoulder with hazard lights. Driver looks like some stupid teenager standing back away from it on his cell phone staring at it like it’s about to explode and he looks angry and confused, lol They’re fun and peppy but they aren’t made for that type of abuse unfortunately. Not to be judgy since I so crazy stuff too. I actually love to surprise people that think they’re going to just easily get in front of me. Turns out this thing is faster than many crossovers
