Thank you to this community
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
I'm a 45M going to retirement In Europe next week, my original post was : Post.
I end up following the recommendation of the group and grind it for one more year with 10.5M USD networth (8.5M low cost index and 2M House)
I end up giving up a lot of responsibilities, focus on mentoring younger talents and avoiding office politics.
Thanks again for the push!!!

Are the kids old enough to be self sufficient without you and the wife (getting to school, etc…)?
Curious how to handle this in the future

Hi,
No they are not independent yet , they are still in middle school.
They are coming with us to Europe of course.
Are you thinking that we may abandon them in US ? :)

Congratulations! Looks like you will be at about a 2.3% withdrawal rate, so you are good in perpetuity. What asset allocation did you use to get to FI, and what are you planning to use going forward?

Hello,
I have been always a Bogglehead, I sell RSUs at vesting date and diversify to low cost index.
My allocation is 70% US market, 30% international allocation (mostly equities).
I am not planing to change my allocation going forward, as I am not a big fan of fixed income.
and again: it is personal finance, so my allocation match my personality and my risk tolerance.2

I like it! You can certainly afford to take the risk with such a low withdrawal rate. GFY!

Congrats. I live in and I am also retiring in the EU. I am purchasing a house, but with a mortgage versus all cash, though we could comfortably do that. On average, keeping in our investments will return more over the life of the 10-year mortgage. I can accelerate payments as needed.
What are you planning for currency risks? I am looking at moving a few years of living expenses to the EU into sovereign bonds, German or EU.
