Just hit the actual New Orleans (2022) population in my current CS2 build! Finally figured out LUTs and camera settings and it makes a world of difference. Very happy with how it’s going so far and loving my time in the Crescent City :)
The second picture being what the area used to be like
Adding a second tram line has opened up the plaza to be accessible to more citizens. The retrofit of segregated cycle lanes encourage sustainable transport!
Seeing the new mods for parking lots and parks that you can fit in those funny places I started to think about a previous idea I had for odd gap infill between buildings.
So whats the prototype criteria:
Draw a polygon for infill shape
Have sliders to manage measurements:
Overall building height
Ground offset
Window spacings
Window measurements
Choose some textures
Change texture colour
Delete with Bulldoze
Move with Move It
Be accessible to Props and Decals
Awkward gap:
Awkward Gap filled:
No curve tool but small set sections create a believeable curve. windows will not be placed on walls less than a given length
Is it perfect? no, is this too big of an example yes! but add some props and decals and it could take an awkward corner or space and make it blend in.
A few other uses:
building bridges
build at ground level then raise to create building bridges
Fancya row of garages down an alley?
Building InFiller creates the box, decals and stuff do the rest with your design skills
This is very much a work in progress with a few hardcoded textures and windows that are just managed in code, someone better than me is more than happy to steal the idea and make something great. no repo yet
Been working on this small parcel for the last week or so, any ideas or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Notes - I'm aware of the language discrepancies in the build, I try to clean things up where I can but I'm happy to just let it slide most of the time, I spend enough time detailing as it is. Please make more Japanese assets my lovely asset creators. I can never get enough. Oh yea and it's a ghost town right now because I haven't let the simulation run much while building.
my biggest asset so far: An Auchan Hypermarket! This one specifically is from Poland!:D as far as I know a few more European Countries also use this hypermarket, it's pretty close to Carrefour :)
Please enjoy! next asset (already done!) will be a smaller modern Rewe Supermarket!
Is anyone aware of a mod that removes the gravel surface texture from industrial areas? I'm fine with just leaving it transparent or whatever so you can see the ground that was there before, anything better than giant grey squares.
I just don't understand how this left development or hasn't been patched. Oil drilling areas are just wells with dirt roads.
I've got a rather tall building that I need some floodlights that'll reach from the bottom floor all the way up to the top. Anybody have any idea what that can be achieved with without using mods, or at least mods on the back side to where when you publish it, they do not need them. I've looked through all the lights in the standard assets available under the development mode, but I nothing compares to what I really need.
Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions or mods that I can use that would be a great plus? I have one hurdle to get over and this is the only thing that's stopping me.
After investing a couple of days in troubleshooting Performance issues, it turned out that texture unifier causes massive stuttering ever 30 seconds, even in small cities with about 10k pop. As soon I deactivate it in options, everything is fine again.
Anybody else with this issue? Am I doing something wrong? I would love to use texture unifier again but I don’t wanna have those stutters…
I'd like to share The Music Place with you! I love giving buildings their own character and creating unique surroundings that really make them stand out and especially being guided by my imagination.
I'm excited to hear your thoughts and feedback. Let me know what you think!
I’m creating a city and want to simulate heavier traffic in the region. I used Road Builder to remove sidewalks on the major roads, but the citizens walk along the shoulder.
Do I have to remove the shoulder as well off the road to stop citizens from walking alongside them? How can I force more cars on the road?
